Hellraiser (1987)
Overly gory British horror from Clive Barker. When a couple move into the man's old home, the woman finds an unpleasant surprise: her husband's brother (and her lover) as a mass of blood and bones. She learns that he needs blood to regenerate, so she lures lonely men back to the house, where she kills them with a hammer. Thrown into the mix are five Cenobites, demons summoned by a puzzle box, who put the brother into his current state. This film is good for some shock and gross-out scares, but the characterizations are inconsistent, or simply two-dimensional. An okay rental, but nothing to shout about.
