Basic Facts (Backround Information)
The AE86 was first introduced in 1983 and stayed in production untill early 1987. Toyota produced two diffrent models of the corolla, the kouki and the zenki, also known as the Levin and the Trueno. The Trueno and the levin are very similar even in looks.The Levin model had almost a rectangular shape to there head lights, while the Trueno had the flip up model headlights. The names on the cars were diffrent as well. On the front grill of the Levin the car had "Levin" imprinted on the grill and the word "Levin" above the tail lights. The Trueno had the word "Trueno" Imprinted in its front grill, above the tail lights it also stated the words "Trueno and Sprinter".
Both models had two different body styles that were available. The hatch back and sedan models. Most people were and still are accustomed to the hatch style, not only because it looks better but also for its aerodynamic design. But there was a big diffrence under the hood. The "Sprinter" or "Trueno" had the high output engine the AE86, as to the Levin it had more of the economy type engine the AE111. Is there a diffrence betwen the engines? Im not gonna tell you, your gonna have to buy one on your own and figure it out for yourself.
