The Story of Us

We started as strangers,
Not knowing each other.
Slowly we grew to be best friends,
Laughing and playing together.
Talking all night and exchanging secrets,
Fun was always there.
Whenever we had a problem we'd talk and listen,
Knowing someone would care.
Little fights here and there,
Always were forgiven.
Over a little talk and comfort,
Our days were brightened.
Watching movies,
Playing basketball.
We each had our moments,
All and all.
We stuck together,
Through and through.
No matter what,
Even when we didnt' know what to do.
There were awkward moments,
Between you and me.
But whatever I said, however I felt,
You were there, comforting and listening so gently.
Then something happened.
An unknown error.
Changed our lives,
Maybe forever.
I realize now what a great person you are,
One of the best I've ever met.
And knowing now all the chances you gave me,
How I reacted, I now regret.
Although you are not with me,
At least we can see each other.
And you WILL be with me,
In my heart forever.
