1. The desktop is the large colored area on your computer screen; 2. Icons are small pictures you see on the desktop; 3. The Taskbar is the narrow band at the bottom of your screen; 4. Frames that information can be opened through in Windows; 5. The information area is the pale blue area to the right of the taskbar where the clock is displayed; 6. The Start Menu is the green button on the left of the taskbar that contains what you need to begin using Windows.
