A little about CB!
Hi! My pen name is 'CB', but my name is Carol. I live in Northern California, in the Silicon Valley. I am about an hour and a half south of Sears Point Raceway. (Oops...Infineon!) And, about 5 hours north of Fontana. So, we get to go to two NASCAR events each year. Someday, we would love to go to Las Vegas for the race, but our ultimate goal is to go to the Daytona 500. I've been a race fan all my life, seriously, since i was a little kid. I even got to see Jeff Gordon race here when he was a little kid. One of my fondest memories is watching Dale Sr. race in person at Sears Point.
When I'm not watching NASCAR, or NASCAR related shows, I'm usually writing! Believe me, I have a lot more Dale and Carly stuff written than you have read on the internet. And a few other things too. But with the creation of this new website, you will be able to read some of my other stuff. I also love to sew and play tennis, and i spend a lot of time watching my daughter play tennis or softball. Thank goodness she and my husband are both race fans too. Unfortunately, we all like different drivers...sometimes things get pretty ugly at our house after a race. Especially the day that Jeff booted Rusty out of the way at Bristol...(shudders). (Daughter = Jeffy fan, husband = Rusty fan.)
My favorite driver, of course, is Dale Jr. I was a fan of Dale Sr. ever since he came up to Winston Cup. And of course, when i finally realized that i had to pick a new favorite driver (I was in denial for about two weeks after Feb. '01!) the clear choice for me was Dale Jr. I had always rooted for him in Busch anyway. I do like Steve, Mikey, Kerry and Kevin Harvick too. And if you've read my stories, you know who I don't like. But Dale Jr. has carried on more admirably than anyone would have expected him to, and is turning out to be the same championship material that his father was, just with a different style. (Oh, and the fact that he's cute is a bonus!) So, you know where I am on the weekends, glued to the TV, or on those two special weekends, sitting in the grandstands baking in the sun, listening to Junior's colorful banter on the scanner. And believe me, at Sears Point, it's colorful!
I hope you enjoy my stories, and thanks for all the feedback! Go Junior!
