wiccans vs christianity:
what wiccans believe...
wiccans dont just believe in one God, they believe in mother God, and father God, on being the sun and the other the moon. and to please their God they worship nature. feeling that in a sense itll give them power, they cast spells, and do "white magick, believeing that if they do black magic or anything evil or bad to anyone it will come back to them three fold. they often dont acknowledge there being a satan. and the positive look media gives to it (whitches being portrayed as young, powerful and glamorous. from "Buffy the vampire slayer" to "The craft"), is the cause of it growing in North America, and Euope. this is something that is now apart of the American culture. something im not proud of! as a christian and american.
however wicca is not the same as satanism. *hints the fact they dont believe in Satan at all* they do live by one certain rule to do whatever is right to them, as long as they avoid harming others. their are plenty of other wiccan beliefs as well. i have only named a few on here, but if u want to learn more you will find my email below to email me.
why would anyone want to be a wiccan, why does it seem to be "more" popular among women? well in its own myths the first civilization was ruled by women. life was peaceful and prosperous, (they worshiped nature, and the goddess) when males seemed to take control, and since women have been left to overcome and fight oppression of a male-ruled society. the fact that we (as women) have overcome a lot, makes them say there is a revival of the goddess. women are again realizing their power. so just the desire to have power and thinking that you can get it through wicca's magick is one reason, people go for it. We all love the earth, and want to save it. but worshipping it goes to far. there is also a sense of freedom. (other than being binded) no rules or book to follow.
