The show opened inside the bar that Smackdaddy had demolished. Mr. Lashley and Steve Saxon enter the bar. Lashley makes a wise ass comment about "cleaning up the place to attrack buisness. Saxon is worried that Lashley may get hurt tonight as ref in the main event. Lashley says the Office always has a plan.
This PPV took place in beautiful downtown New Orleans in the French Quarter. Bourbon St. was blocked off and the HWC ring was centered in the middle of the street. People crowded the streets as well as the buildings surrounding the street. In usual Marti Gras fashion, women were hanging from the balconies with bare breasts showing as our one and only, Travis Best threw beads.
Leave it to Travis to be at the announcers' table wearing beads symbolic of a modern day Mr. T. He had beads hanging around his neck and a fat mug of beer on the table in front of him. This was quite a PPV.
In the opening match, Tiger, our one and only female wrestler faced another newcomer, Ice Cold. This match started fast and furious as Tiger used high flying, acrobatic moves to disable Ice Cold. Ice Cold would combat with sheer strength. This match seemed even throughout but Ice Cold seemed to lay off of the offense a bit. My only guess is that he didn't feel totally comfortable fighting a female and Tiger took total advantage of that. Ice Cold used his strength to knock Tiger down, and seemingly, out. But symbolic of most females, she waiting patiently for her chance to "pounce" and did just that. Tiger hit her finisher, the Tiger Pounce and rolled up the kicking Ice Cold for the victory. The crowd went nuts and our beloved Travis Best threw beads at Tiger in hopes of her disrobing but it nothing more than piss her off as she left the ring.
The camera cut to Chris Murphy in the audience...having a beer and talking to Desert Storm. Desert Storm is enjoying the matches, but wants a match for the tag titles.
Our next match was Dozer vs. Bruno von Gotch Jr. This match got underway as Bulldozer used his massive size to sling Bruno around like a rag doll. Bruno started thinking and used his technical expertise to equal the fight. Bruno fought valiantly but, in the end, Dozer was just to big. Dozer waited for Bruno to make a vital mistake. Bruno had Dozer against the ropes and ran to try a splash but Dozer moved. Dozer threw a fury of punches then hit the Demolition on Bruno, knocking him out cold. Dozer dropped for the count and got the victory. Next week, make sure you go see Bruno for you intermission refreshments as he will be manning the snack bar for a while.
Camera cut to Kash Flagg going into I2K's dressing room. Kash wished his new protege luck and compared Tikishi to the late Great Yokozuna. Kash and I2K leave...but there is a shadow lurking nearby.
The next match was for the TV Title. Tikishi challenged I2K for the title. I2K came out swinging but seemed to be no match for the enormous derriere of Tikishi. Tikishi threw I2K into the ropes and as the Stink Face was sure to follow. As Tikishi ran towards I2K, Travis Best burst into the ring holding some kind of envelope. Tikishi was enraged. Travis opened to envelope and read it to Tikishi. It was a court ordered restraining order, ordering Tikishi to stay at least 500 feet away from Travis at any given time. Travis tried to tell Tikishi to leave the building but that only enraged the Phat Man more. Tikishi Splombed Travis in the center of the ring but the New Orleans Police arrived to take Tikishi into custody. Tikishi was locked up and subsequently counted out of the match. I2K retains the TV title.
After these matches, dancers from the annual Marti Gras parade performed in the ring. They threw beads to everyone in the crowd. People started going to the many drink stands and restaurants to refresh their favorite adult beverage.
The next match after the break was for the European Title. Klaus van Hammer was defending his title against Daddy J. This match seemed to go back and forth for several minutes. Klaus would use European wrestling techniques to try and take Daddy J out of the game. Daddy J seemed to use raw street fighting to disable many of the moves Klaus attempted. Daddy J threw Klaus into the corner. Klaus seemed dazed. Daddy J turned to get some crowd reaction and at the same time, Smackdaddy was running to the ring with a steel pipe. Daddy J grappled with Klaus as Smack climbed up the ring apron. As Smackdaddy swung the pipe, Klaus turned Daddy J around and Daddy J was clocked by the pipe. Klaus then drop kicked Smack off the ring apron, picked up Daddy J and reinforced the pain by hitting the Hammer Drop on Daddy J. Klaus dropped for the cover and the win. Klaus retains his European Title despite a botched interference attempt by Smackdaddy.
I2K is heading back to the dressing room, when Hellraizer attacks him from out of nowhere...he throws a fireball and runs when Kash comes to save his friend.
Our next match featured Smackdaddy as he defended his title in a four way match with Maniac, the Gambler and the Hitman. The ring was filled with pipes, cans, Kendo sticks and chains. This was a true Hardcore match and it would be for the Hardcore Title. All four men basically beat the hell out of each other. Smackdaddy dropped out of the ring with Maniac as the Gambler and Hitman kept battling in the ring. Smackdaddy grabbed another steel pipe and smashed in against the noggin of Maniac. Smack then threw him into the steel ring post, picked up the rings steps and dropped them on him. Smack dropped and covered Maniac for the win as the Gambler and Hitman, oblivious to what was going on outside of the ring, kept beating the hell out of each other. Smackdaddy keeps his Hardcore Title with a pin in a "falls count anywhere" Hardcore Match.
Camera cuts to backstage, as Smackdaddy and Daddy J are arguing about the botched attempt. It takes several wrestlers to pull the two men apart.
The next match would be for the HWC Intercontinental Title. Justice, coming off an impressive win over Jaguar would defend his title against a very underrated Kidd Rock. These men would started battling even before the bell sounded. Justice seemed very calm and without emotion as he wrestled while Kidd Rock was very vocal and emotional. Both men fought each other and seemed to never want to quit. Kidd Rock attempted to whip Justice into the ropes but Justice reversed the whip and caught Kidd in the midsection with a kick. Justice then hit the powerful Judgement Day DDT on Kidd. Kidd fell to the mat on his side, out cold. Justice, slowly and methodically walked around to drop on Kidd for the win but, unbeknownst to him, Kash Flagg had made his way to ringside. Kash grabbed the IC belt and climbed to the ring apron and called Justice. As Justice turned, Kash planted the belt to the head of Justice. Justice fell cold to the mat. The impact of Justice hitting the mat caused Kidd to roll over, lifeless. Kidd's right arm draped over Justice's chest and the ref dropped for the count. Kidd Rock got the win and the IC title!
The feature bout of the evening was a Fatal Four way match up for the HWC World Heavyweight Title. Tru Soulja defended his title against the Judge, Jaguar and Ixon. Our very own, Dan Lashley was the guest referee. This seemed to put Tru Soulja in a very big advantage. Pyro and fireworks exploded everywhere at the beginning of this bout. All four participants made their way to the ring and the fight started immediately. Tru went straight for Ixon as Jag and the Judge battled furiously outside the ring. Many pin attempts would take place but other attentive participants would pull that person off to save a chance at the title. At one point, all four men had made it inside the ring. Ixon attempted to spear Jag but at the last minute, Jaguar threw Lashley in the way and Lashley took a vicious spear from Ixon. This match went on for several minutes without a referee. Tru Soulja and Ixon were opened up and bleeding everywhere but continued to battle furiously. Then, amidst an exploding crowd, Kash Flagg came out with a referee shirt on to call the match. In a fury of fists and body slams, Tru Soulja and the Judge both made a pin attempt at the same time. Tru covered Jag after hitting him with the Souja Bomb and the Judge covered Ixon after putting the Wrath of Judgement on him. Kash slid into the ring and made the three count. Both Tru Soulja and the Judge jumped up like they had won the match. Kash looked over at Tru but then raised the hand of the Judge! Kash just declared the Judge as the new HWC Heavyweight champion. Tru Soulja was livid! He started to go after both men as they exited the ring. Tru decided to stay in the ring for some strange reason. As both Kash Flagg and the Judge were facing Tru, walking backwards away from the ring, Justice ran in, out of the crowd and hit the Judgement Day DDT on Kash Flagg on the concrete pavement. The crowd parted like the Red Sea as the Judge and Justice locked eyes. Justice pointed without emotion to the Judge and to his belt. Justice then vanished into the crowd and the show ended with Judge and I2K helping Kash back up.
