Season One

Pilot
Fresh from police academy, Holly Gribbs (Chandra West) is sent to the scene of a robbery and homicide. Warrick is assigned to shadow her, but he leaves her alone so he can sort out some gambling business. Meanwhile, Grissom is frustrated when he investigates the suicide of Royce Harmon which he believes could have been murder. CSI also takes on the case of a stripper who is drugging and robbing men.

Cool Change
Grissom replaces Brass as head of the CSI unit following the shooting of Gribbs. Catherine feels guilty for persuading Gribbs not to quit and is determined to solve the case, but she is forced to team up with newcomer Sara Sidel, an old friend of Grissom's from San Francisco. Meanwhile, Grissom and Nick investigate the death of a man hours after he won a $40m slot-machine jackpot.

Crate 'n Burial
Grissom and Nick investigate the kidnapping of Laura Garris (Jolene Blalock), the wife of a rich businessman. A phone message and some dirt are their only clues. Warrick and Catherine look into a hit-and-run accident in which a girl dies and an old man claims he was the driver.

Pledging Mr Johnson
Nick and Sara investigate the death of a student who has been found hanging in his room after failing to win an invite to join a frat house. Grissom and Catherine try to establish the facts when the severed leg of a woman is uncovered in a lake, with her husband and her lover both coming under suspicion.

Friends & Lovers
Grissom and Warrick attend a rave while looking into the death of a young man who was found naked in the desert; Sara deals with a possible grave robber; and Catherine and Nick investigate a case in which the founder of a school claims she killed the dean in self defence.

Who Are You?
A female skeleton is found buried in concrete under a house. Catherine's ex-husband Eddie (Timothy Carhart) is accused of raping an exotic dancer. Warrick and Sara come under pressure from Brass when a cop with a history of complaints against him faces a murder charge.

Blood Drops (aka The Beast or If These Walls Could Talk)
Grissom assembles the whole team when four members of the Collins family are brutally stabbed to death, with just teenager Tina (Allison Lange) and her younger sister Brenda (Dakota Fanning) surviving. Daytime CSI shift chief Conrad Eckley (Marc Vann) tries to solve the case before Grissom. Meanwhile, Catherine's ex-husband contacts social services, accusing her of neglecting their daughter.

Anonymous
When Grissom investigates the death of a man found dead in a bath, he finds parallels with the faked suicide of Royce Harmon (a case featured in the pilot episode). Meanwhile, Warrick and Nick gamble on the outcome of a case in which a man's car plunged over a cliff.

Unfriendly Skies
Grissom and the team investigate the death of a passenger in the first class section of a Las Vegas-bound plan, but they find his fellow passengers are unco-operative.

Sex, Lies And Larvae
Grissom and Sara investigate a body full of insects in the desert, while Warrick and Catherine are assigned to an art theft and Nick tries to trace a missing woman. Meanwhile, Grissom gets Sara to investigate whether Warrick is gambling while on duty.

I-15 Murders
The disappearance of a woman from a supermarket sends Grissom and Catherine on the trail of a serial killer whose victims are linked by an interstate road. Warrick partners a reluctant Sara as they try to establish that a man killed his brother and Nick helps out prostitute Kristi Hopkins (Krista Allen) who has got into trouble in a hotel shop.

Fahrenheit 932
Grissom gets a video from Frank Damon, who is awaiting trial for murdering his wife and child by burning down their home, but claims he is innocent. Grissom heeds the plea for help, even though it brings him into conflict with dayshift supervisor Conrad Eckley (Marc Vann) who originally investigated the case. Catherine and Nick look into the shooting of a teenager who worked as a runner placing bets.

Boom
A security guard with an in-depth knowledge of explosives is the main suspect when a bomb goes off in the office building where he works, killing one of his colleagues. Catherine battles to help Nick whose career is under threat after he spends the night, for free, with prostitute Kristi Hopkins (Krista Allen) and she is found dead the following morning.

To Halve And To Hold
After a boy and his dog find a human bone in the desert, Grissom and Catherine must recover the rest of the skeleton, and decide whether or not a crime has been committed. Warrick and Sarah investigate when an exotic dancer is found dead in a hotel room after a hen night party.

Table Stakes
A woman is found dead in the swimming pool at a house where the owner – a wealthy ex-showgirl – is away and a young couple are house-sitting. A false nail and a cufflink provide clues for Grissom to follow. Warrick takes on the case of a shooting death in a hotel elevator.

Too Tough To Die
Grissom advises Sara to find other interests when she becomes too attached to a woman who has been raped, shot and left for dead. Catherine and Warrick have to get to the bottom of a case in which a man was shot dead by his neighbour. Meanwhile, Catherine discovers Eddie has taken out a second mortgage without telling her.

Face Lift
After a break-in at the Cracked Kiln pottery store, the owners find a dead body. Grissom's investigation soon finds a link to the kidnapping of a four-year-old girl 21 years earlier. Meanwhile, Sara and Warrick look into the death of a woman who burned to death while her husband slept next door – a possible case of spontaneous human combustion.

$35K O.B.O.
A married couple are killed after a romantic meal and their car is stolen. Grissom and his team arrive on the scene, just as a rainstorm washes away much of the evidence. When the couple's vehicle is recovered, the body of a young girl tumbles out into Grissom's arms. Catherine comes into conflict with the district engineer when she investigates the collapse of a building in which three elderly sisters were killed.

Gentle, Gentle
Grissom and the team investigate when a baby is kidnapped from wealthy parents Steve and Gwen Anderson (Brian McNamara and Lisa Darr).

Sounds Of Silence
Grissom meets a wall of silence as he looks into the death of a deaf men. Catherine and Nick investigates the deaths of five people in a coffee shop which shows all the signs of being a Mafia hit.

Justice Is Served
When a jogger is found dead, it looks like he was attacked by a wild cat, but Grissom has his doubts. Catherine gets emotionally involved when she goes with Sara to investigate the death of a six-year-old girl on a carnival ride.

Evaluation Day
A severed head is found in the trunk of a car stolen by two drunk girls in bikinis; and the skinned corpse of a headless body is found in a remote area. CSI looks to see if there's a connection. Warrick investigates a murder at a juvenile prison, where the only witness is a youngster he helped to convict (in Crate 'n Burial). Meanwhile, Grissom has to evaluate the team, which includes telling Nick he's not yet ready for promotion.

The Strip Strangler
Grissom is forced to work with the FBI on the case of a serial killer. He is unhappy that the Feds feel the need to give the killer a nickname, The Strip Strangler, furious that they want to use Sara as bait to trap him, and incandescent when a man is caught who he knows didn't commit all the crimes.

Season Two

Burked
Drug addict Tony Braun, the son of a rich casino owner, is found dead in his opulent house, apparently from a heroin overdose, but CSI suspect foul play.

Chaos Theory
The team investigates the disappearance of a female student from the university and they come up with a range of motives and suspects.

Overload
Grissom clashes with Sheriff Brian Mobley (Glenn Morshower) when he pursues his theory that a death at a building site was murder. Nick gets emotionally involved when a teenage boy is found dead at the home of his female psychologist.

Bully For You
Warrick puts an expensive electronic nose to use when investigating the shooting of a high-school bully. Nick and Sara face the sickening task of investigating a decomposed body found in a zipped-up bag.

Scuba Doobie-Doo
When the CSI team investigate an empty, blood-spattered apartment, the former tenant offers a very implausible explanation. A man in scuba diving gear is found dead in a tree in the middle of a forest fire scene.

Alter Boys
A murder suspect is caught burying the two victims in the desert, but a priest plants doubts in Grissom's mind about the young man's guilt. Catherine and Warrick investigate the death of a woman in a hotel spa.

Caged
A woman who restores valuable books is found dead, locked inside an environmentally-controlled workspace. An autistic colleague and the boss she was having an affair with are possible suspects for Grissom and Nick. Catherine and Sara investigate the death of a woman in a collision on a level crossing between her car and a train.

Slaves Of Las Vegas
When a woman's naked body is found in a playground's sandpit, Grissom and Catherine's investigations take them to a Las Vegas fetish club. Warrick and Sara investigate a shooting at a check cashing office.

And Then There Were None
The CSI investigators connect two crimes – an armed robbery at a casino during which one of the robbers (a man dressed as a woman) is shot and the murder of a clerk at a convenience store in the desert.

Ellie
Warrick, who has been put in charge while Grissom attends a conference, has to deal with the murder of a con-man who has links with Captain Brass's estranged daughter Ellie (Nicki Aycox ). Meanwhile, Sara can't hide her resentment about Warrick's temporary promotion and throws herself into investigating the discovery of counterfeit money.

Organ Grinder
A real estate businessman is found dead in a hotel elevator, but the team discover he didn't dress himself and he was the victim of poisoning. His wife and secretary both come under suspicion.

You've Got Male
Two sisters have been killed and dumped in pipes at a remote building site. One of the victims was an obvious loner and was having an e-mail relationship with a prisoner. Sara is stung into re-evaluating her life after seeing similarities between her and the lonely victim. Meanwhile, Catherine and Nick deal with a man who seems to be the victim of a hunting accident.

Identity Crisis
The whole team get involved when serial killer Paul Millander (Matt O'Toole) strikes again – he previously faked the suicides of two men (featured in the pilot episode and Anonymous). All three victims were born on August 17 – and so was Grissom.

The Finger
Catherine gets caught up in a kidnap plot when she is ordered to accompany businessman Roy Logan (Tom Irwin) when he delivers a $1million ransom for the safe return of his mistress.

Burden Of Proof
The team investigate when the corpse of a photographer is dumped at a body farm where scientists carry out investigations on cadavers. Grissom is baffled by the fact that no bullet can be found, while Catherine is concerned about the victim's relationship with his step-daughter-to-be.

Primum Non Nocere
Grissom, Catherine and Sara investigate the death of an ice hockey player found with his throat cut beneath a pile of players after a fight. Warrick is attracted to a flirtatious singing star, Lillie Ivers (Nicole Ari Parker), when he and Nick probe the drug-related death of her saxophone player.

Felonius Monk
Four monks are shot in the forehead at point blank range while praying in their Buddhist temple. Grissom leads the investigation. Meanwhile, a man who was found guilty of killing Catherine's best friend 15 years earlier insists, on his death bed, that he is innocent . When Catherine re-opens the case, she finds out disturbing facts about her mentor.

Chasing The Bus
The CSI team investigate whether sabotage is the cause when a bus travelling from Los Angeles to Las Vegas crashes, resulting in nine deaths.

Stalker
The CSI team conclude that a young woman was killed by a stalker despite going to enormous lengths to be secure. With the help of a clairvoyant, they discover more terrifying facts. Nick is unhappy about the publicity he gets as crimestopper of the month in the departmental newsletter – but that's the least of his problems.

Cats In The Cradle...
Grissom and Catherine are called in when an 80-year-old woman is found dead in her house full of cats, while Nick and Sara investigate when a woman appears to be the target of a car bomb.

Anatomy Of A Lye
Grissom and Sara's investigations lead them to an obnoxious young lawyer when a man's body is buried in a park. Meanwhile, Nick is baffled by the death by drowning of a woman hiker in a desert.

Cross-Jurisdictions
The former Las Vegas chief of detectives is executed after a swingers' party at his mansion, and his wife and daughter are missing. The trail leads to Florida where Caroline and Warrick link up with Miami's CSI chief Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and his team. [Caine and company went on to feature in spin-off series CSI: Miami]

The Hunger Artist
A woman's body is found in an overturned shopping trolley. Her face has been horribly disfigured and among the clues is a personal organiser with notes in code.

Season Three

Revenge Is Best Served Cold
Poker-playing legend the Candyman drops dead in the middle of a high-stakes game, while a hotshot in the sport of street racing is found dead at an abandoned airstrip.

The Accused Is Entitled
Hedonistic actor Tom Haviland (Chad Michael Murray) is accused of killing a prostitute found in his hotel room. When Grissom finds vital forensic evidence, the star's lawyer hires Grissom's former mentor Philip Gerard (Raymond J Barry) to uncover mistakes in the CSI's work.

Let The Seller Beware
A wealthy couple are found dead at the luxurious house they were selling, while Sara goes solo to investigate when a cheerleader is discovered on a sports field with her internal organs removed.

A Little Murder
The body of a dwarf is found hanging in a casino hotel during the Little People's convention, while Catherine is attacked as she investigates a murder.

Abra Cadaver
During the Amazing Zephyr's Chamber of Doom magic act involving swords stuck through a box, a volunteer from the audience disappears, with just a few drops of blood left behind. Meanwhile, Catherine and Nick look into the apparent overdose by a rock star on his tour bus.

The Execution Of Catherine Willows
John Mathers (Victor Bevine) is being executed for killing three girls 15 years earlier – a case that Catherine was involved in. But new DNA evidence, and a new killing, casts serious doubts on his conviction.

Fight Night
A boxer dies in the ring, there's a smash-and-grab raid on a jeweller's shop, and a Los Angeles gang member is gunned down.

Snuff
A snuff movie comes to light in which a woman is brutally killed, and a body is found covered in fire ants inside a toolbox.

And Then There Were None
Five guards are killed during an armed robbery on a casino, and a man is shot dead at a convenience store.

Blood Lust
An Indian taxi driver is beaten to death by a mob of angry white men when it seems he ran over a teenage boy. But Grissom discovers that the victim had been stabbed and had his internal organs removed.

High And Low
A man who was thrown off a building was dead before hitting the ground, and a man is killed with his own weapon.

Recipe For Murder
A hand is found in a consignment of meat and the CSI's discover the victim was a chef (and that the rest of his body is now hamburger meat), while a disturbed young woman bleeds to death after her wrists are cut.

Got Murder?
A human eye is found in a bird's nest, leading to a limbless female. Meanwhile, a car salesman who is subject of an autopsy isn't actually dead.

Random Acts Of Violence
Warrick investigates a drive-by shooting in which a nine-year-old girl has been killed at the house of his former mentor (Keith David). Meanwhile, Nick probes the death of an unpopular internet company boss.

One Hit Wonder
A sexual predator is terrifying single women, while Sara reopens a cold case involving the killing of a colleague's husband and Grissom has further problems with his hearing.

Lady Heather's Box
A 90-minute episode in which Grissom investigates the deaths of two employees of dominatrix Lady Heather (Melinda Clarke), while Sara is given the case when Catherine's ex-husband Eddie (Timothy Carhart) disappears after his car crashes into a culvert with their daughter on board.

Lucky Strike
Grissom and Nick investigate when a car chase ends with the discovery that the driver has a wooden stake in his head. Meanwhile, the five-year-old son of a basketball player is kidnapped.

Crash & Burn
Sara's boyfriend Hank (Christopher Wiehl) is hurt when an elderly woman drives into a crowded bar, while Grissom is convinced that the death of a woman due to carbon-monoxide poisoning is no accident.

Precious Metal
A badly decomposed body is found in a chemical waste drum on a farm, leading the CSIs to investigate the strange world of robotic sports.

A Night at the Movies
A man is stabbed in the head with a screwdriver while a gunfight distracted his fellow cinema-goers.

Last Laugh
Grissom and Catherine investigate when a despised comedian dies on stage in the middle of his act, while Nick and Sara look into the death of a woman in her bath after Brass becomes suspicious when her husband gets a flashy car and new girlfriend.

Forever
A female horse trainer is found trampled to death on a private jet carrying 12 wealthy passengers and a valuable horse. Meanwhile, the bodies of a boy and girl in formal dress are found in Death Valley.

Play With Fire...
The body of a strangled woman is found on a school sports field and the CSIs link her death to two convicts. Meanwhile, Greg and Sara are hurt in an explosion at the crime lab

Inside The Box
Detective Lockwood (Jeffrey D Sams) is killed during a bank raid carried out by three masked bandits. Evidence reveals that the mastermind behind the crime is casino owner Sam Braun (Scott Wilson), a close friend of Catherine. Meanwhile, Gil seeks help as his hearing gets worse.
