Versailles

This is the main building at Versaille. It was origionally build by Louis the 14th as a hunting lodge but they eventually moved the government there. There, a little history lesson for you. They added on to it tons too when they moved the government there. For those of you who also didn't know, the government used to be in the Louvre.

The grounds were so cool!! They were huge first of all. In the middle of it there was a huge canal(called the 'Grand Canal') and there was tons of ponds and maze type things out of shrubs and stuff. It was very neat. It was raining on and off that day though, so our walk around the grounds was pretty short. We ended up in the rain. My dad made it back to the main building in time, and my mom and sister had an umbrella, but I got soaked.

The Grand Trianon was built after they moved the government to Versaille, its at the back of the property and was the Kings new escape, aka the new hunting lodge.
