    Both the front and rear brakes on the C303 are using brake shoes. The brake cylinder used are from 6 cylinder Land Rover. The front brakes have 2 cylinders per wheel, and the rear brake has only one cylinder per wheel. It is pretty difficult to work on the brake since you can't take out the wheel hubs due to the portal axles (unless you want to transform a brake job into a more expensive job).

    The leading shoe has more space before the lining compared with the trailing shoe (see Adjusting the rear shoes). You can check the other Brake section for adjustments.

    This is the rear left wheel. This one is the leading brake shoe.

This one is the trailing brake shoe.

This is the trailing brake shoe opposite to the wheel cylinder.
