As part of that effort, Kodak is working hard to integrate health, safety, and environment (HSE) throughout its research, development, and commercialization processes. By weight, between 76-90 percent of every Kodak single-use camera model can be reused or recycled. By May 2001, more than 400 million OTUCs had been recycled over 12 years. On May 21, 1999, the World Environmental Center awarded Kodak its gold medal recognizing its worldwide OTUC recycling program."
