Welcome to Lex's UPC Hacking Page. This page will allow you to create UPC's, or what you normal-folk call Bar Codes. All you do is type in the number, followed by a caption, and hit Go. Do not, under any circumstance, use the bar codes created to cheat a store. Do not type in a real bar code for gum, print it on a label, and stick it on an expensive item. That is illegal and I will not be held responsible for such acts. Especially since this CGI script doesn't even belong to me.

Comparison:

To save an image as I have done, you must take a screen shot (Print Screen), unless your pc supports XBM format.  Go into MS-Paint, select the bar code w/ the CUT curser.  Click Edit->Copy/Cut.  File->New.  Resize the blank white space to as small as it will go.  Click Edit->Paste, and say “Yes, I would like the bitmap resized”.  If you wanna get rid of that blue border, click the paint-bucket, click white, and then click on the blue border.  Save it as whatever you want, monochrome bitmap is best for black & white images, but I save as jpeg.  Remember, scanners sometimes take a certain degree of error, and if not, then at least the numbers are there to type in.

Ex. '0000002:Soda Deposit’  Ex ‘0000002:’ for no caption
For coupons and extended barcodes, use a comma. Ex '070989362383,10:Magazine'
