Wooden Coasters

Dinn and Summers

The main wooden coaster builders of the late 80s and early 90s. They made Texas Giant, Timber Wolf, and The Beast. The rides were once considered the best wooden coasters made, but some of their rides have been reprofiled and brakes were added. Sadly in 1992, Curtis Summers died. His partner Charlie Dinn passed the company to his daughter, who runs CCI.

Custom Coasters International

The best wooden coaster company of the 90s. Pushed the envelope for wooden coasters. Their coasters have already reached legendary status in my mind. Their great coasters include Ghostrider, Shivering Timbers, Raven, and Legend.

GCI

This company was started by coaster lover Mike Boodley. Him and his partner Claire Hain have incorporated the swooping drops and directional changes that were common place in the 20s. All of their coasters have been fan favorites including Lightning Racer, Wildcat (Hershey Park), Roar, and Gwazi. They've also introduced a new train, the millenium flyers, which are similar to coaster trains from the 20s.
