Pete the blader

Sometimes blading can be really uniteresting to watch.A load of loud mouths repeatadly roll up and attempt to royale down a rail a foot or two off the ground. But I spose this is either just progression or because they like labeled sports wear and garage music.I do however envy the flips and spins they can pull. It's rare to meet someone who isn't sponsored and does these kinda tricks for fun.Every so often down swanly you'll see one of these kinda bladers,Pete is one of these. When you first see him take a run you get sorta of envious.

After I took the first few photos I had a chat with Pete while he enjoyed a ciggarete. It turned out he was so good at air and plant tricks because he was once on the British Acrobatic team.It was obvious he had next to perfect balance and mastered taking "run ups" instead of just skating up.He also seems to have a way of rocketing himself into the air and rolling up ramps like he was skating in a super market car park. The thing that totaly stoked me was the way he could throw his weight forward or back in a single motion and just hang as he spun round (and then on a few occasions, messily impacted into the deth box)

So,like I said,I thought was wicked the way he pulled his flips.THen,later when the park had emptyed out a bit and he'd taken a few more runs and ended his session,we had another chat. After a bit of me discrbing the web site he said "Do you class break dancing as an extreme sport?",I looked at him and smirked thinking he was pissing about and said I did.So he walked over to his bag, yanked off his blades and put on his trainers. He then pulled about five back-flips in a row and started break dancing. As I took photos I wondered when he'd found the time to learn all this.
