Disclaimer Thingie: I don’t own em, but I wish I did, ‘cause then I’d make Jonny and Jessie fall in love. And please, if you think someone is crazy enough to pay me for it, go see a psychiatrist. Anyway, I’m not making money either. And you should know better than to sue an adoring fan who has taped each and every Jonny Quest The Real Adventures episode, and watches them atleast twice a day.

By the way, this is a season-2 fic, in fact all my fics are season two.

This is an HR fic. Note to non-HR heathens.: Sorry to offend, but how can you be so blind as to not see the hot sparks flying b/w J&J every time they are onscreen??

Jessie Bannon could not believe it. For the first time in her life, she had a crush. OK, maybe for the second time. First it had been Hadji, but she’d gotten fed up with how he only had eyes for the evil females. But now, Jessie had it bad. It made her feel so silly and childish, but she couldn’t help it. And worst of all, the guy whom she had the hots for was none other than her best friend Jonny Quest! Jeez, he was so cute. With all that blonde hair and those classic blue eyes. He was just so handsome. She felt physically weak every time she looked at him. When he grinned that lopsided grin, she felt like melting into his arms. She loved his free spirit, his confidence, his mischievous sense of humor. She wanted to kiss him. She just wanted it unconditionally. And what she wanted, she always got. Today was the day Jonny was going to have to kiss her, whether he liked it or not.

As she headed to the lighthouse where Jonny had been all day, she felt her heart pounding and her pulse racing. What if he doesn’t kiss me back? What if he starts laughing at me? What if he’s still hung up on Irena Kafka?

"Hey, Jess." Said Jonny, as she entered. He barely even looked up at me, she thought unhappily. But just looking at him made her feel giddy and love struck. He was just so handsome. His lovely blonde hair was shining like spun gold, and his muscles rippled underneath his tight black shirt.

"Um, Jonny?" she whispered, moving closer to him.

"Yes?"

They were VERY close now., almost touching.

"Jonny…" she whispered, meeting his eyes.

"Yeah, what is it?" he got up and walked away innocently.

Is he blind? Is he mad? Here I am, literally throwing myself at him, and he just gets up and walks away! She thought angrily. I’ll give it one more try, though.

She walked up to where he was standing. He had his back to her. She brought her hand up and seductively caressed his shoulder, moving closer to him.

"Hey," she whispered into his ear.

He wiggled away from her.

"Jess, that tickles!"

"FINE!!" she angry stalked away. The kiss just wasn’t going to happen today.

She was halfway to the mansion, when someone grabbed her arm, turned her around. It was Jonny.

"Jess, there was something I wanted to show you."

"What?"

"come to the lighthouse and see for yourself."

"’K."

When they entered the lighthouse, Jonny grabbed Jessie’s arm and pulled her close.

"What are you doing?" she asked, confused.

Instead of answering, he pulled her closer and slid his other arm around her waist. She watched wordlessly as he brought his face closer to hers. Looking into his gorgeous eyes, she felt her heart skip a beat.

He’s going to kiss me, she realized. That’s why he brought me here.

Well, she definitely did not mind. She closed her eyes in anticipation, and he kissed her. It was more wonderful than anything she had ever experienced. His mouth was soft, but firm, gentle but insistent. And without quite realizing it, she fell in love with him. It wasn’t a crush anymore. She slipped her arms around his neck, pulling him tighter into the embrace.

When the kiss ended, she slumped into her arms, devoid of energy. He was holding her so tightly.

"I love you, Jonny," she whispered.

"Ditto, Jess."

They walked back to the Compound in silent companionship.
