This name -
stands for all I want to be
all I could ever dream of.
She served her God with all she had
and although not perfect
many could easily mistake
her for achieving perfection
just because of how she is remembered.
Her smile is something amazing,
a light shining brightly within -
I've seen pictures.
She acted without fear
when it came to serving God
and died professing her faith.
She definitely did bring joy
and her death was felt world-wide
but she didn't care about that
she just knew she wouldn't deny Him
and died serving Him!
Sadness is felt when we think of Columbine
but God doesn't make mistakes
and he needs us to trust Him
in all things - even death.
He proved to us He conquered it
when His son left an empty tomb
and appeared again - alive!
And even though we are left with sadness
hope is what abounds.
I just pray some day
I can be even a fraction
of what she was for her God.
.
