Bryan and Denise McDonald, long time 2WD pullers, lost their son Brad in a 4-wheeler accident on Tuesday, April 19th. He was 9 yrs old. Please keep the McDonald family in your prayers.


** SCHEDULE UPDATES **


BelAir, MD event days and times have changed. The event WILL NOW BE HELD Saturday, July 30 at 7:00pm and Sunday, July 31 at 1:00pm. Classes pulling are: SS/PS; 2WD; MODIFIED.
Harrisonburg, Va start times are at 6:30pm for the East Coast events in 2005.


MODIFIED TRACTOR RULES


These are the corrected rules from the 2005 Rule book:
Modified tractors are limited to the following:
a)Three (3) blown automotive motors 8-71 blower limit, or a single staged turbo tractors. Cast iron or aluminum blocks are permitted. No intercoolers will be accepted. Port fuel injection is acceptable.
b)All OEM wedge type cylinder heads with 8-71 superchargers will compete at 7800#
c)Any three (3) wedge automotive type motors that accept OEM intake manifold will be allowed to compete with 14071 superchargers.
d)Five (5) naturally aspirated small blocks permitted.
e)Two (2) blown Hemi or wedge motors with 14-71 blower maximum or 2 staged turbos. Port ignition only, with no intercooler being allowed.
f)One Allison V-12 with either a 2-turbo setup or an aux. stage, plus a naturally aspirated automotive motor.
g)Single Allison V-12 with a single staged supercharger or turbo. Fuel-injector system or carburetors, plus one wedge automotive type engine with a blower maximum or 8-71.
h)One marine or industrial engine and diesels may have up to 2 pressure stages.
i)No more than 4 T-53s with water and alcohol injections. (see also: Turbine Engines)
j)Two (2) Packards running gas or alcohol with a 6.51 supercharger. Stock Packard butterfly must be maintained and used.
k)One T-55 or one Y-64 Turbine with water injection only
l)No more than 2 Allisons on gas, with a supercharger ratio not exceeding 8.8-1. Two Allisons on alcohol may not exceed supercharger size of 8.1-1. Stock Allison butterfly must be used or 3850 CFM. Holly carburetors must use SFI 4.2.
m)All automotive motors limited to two valves per cylinder.
n)A maximum bore spacing of 5.00” is allowed.
o)All engines with burst panels must face away from the driver.
p)A puller may disable an engine if their combination is over ATPA limits.

MODIFIED CHASSIS
a)No portion of the tractor may go beyond 14 feet from the center of the rear axle.
b)Any Mod that has the frame bolted to the transmissions must have the frame bolted to the axle housing. Frame must be sufficient enough to withstand the bolts being taken from the plate of the transmission or rear end, and can still support the weight of the tractor.
c)Drive shafts will not exceed 48 inches and no input or output shaft that attaches to a drive shaft will exceed 4 inches beyond a bearing.
d)A one-inch material minimum below the end of the drive shaft shield and a bolt. The one-inch material will be found in pilot holder at each end of the drive shaft shield. A minimum of 8318 grade #8 bolts will carry bearing assembly if attached to a vertical plate.
e)Any and all carrier bearings must be approved by the ATPA.

Tires -- No more than 30.5 inches wide.

Weight -- 7500#

All tractors will be required to have a 47.1 SFI Spec rollover protection.

2005 Single Day Insurance Available


Single Day Insurance coverage is available at $100.00 per day plus hook fee. This will be available at all ATPA East Coast events.

K&N Contingency Money – Four Wheel Drive Pullers


Contingency money will be paid if you run either a K&N air filter or oil filter ONLY. No other K&N merchandise will qualify. You must display two air filter or two oil filter decals. An ATPA Tech Official will check to see they are on and functioning.

MODIFIED FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE TRUCKS

ATPA East Coast Series rules (650 cu.in. maximum) will be used for the Four Wheel Drive trucks at this pull. Points will be awarded in the ATPA East Coast Series. Richard Love’s ‘Decision Maker’ has been hired as the sled for this Grand American level event. Entry fee will be $40.00 per truck – payable to ATPA.
PRE-REGISTRATION BONUS -- If you ‘pre-register’ for this pull before July 1, 2005, you will receive a $50.00 Fuel Card from our local sponsor. This will be good for fuel and/or food, etc. at the sponsor’s convenience stores. (Only applies to ‘pre-registered’ trucks that actually pull on August 26th) In order to ‘pre-register’, the owner must pay the $40.00 entry fee (payable to ATPA) and complete the necessary form prior to July 1, 2005. NOTE: In order to give all FWD Trucks a second hook while in western Pennsylvania - there is also an ATPA East Coast Series hook for the FWD division the next evening at the Hookstown Fair in Hookstown, Pennsylvania. This fair is about 80 miles south of Meadville and just west of Pittsburgh. The Hookstown pull has agreed to pay the normal ATPA East Coast purse plus ‘Pull-Off Money’. This is also a Points hook for 4wd.
