Maybe it's just me but it sure seems like a whole lot of the Game Boy Advance's games are just portable versions of games for home consoles. You've got Super Mario Advance, Rayman Advance, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and ChuChu Rocket. Then you've got the ones with new stories and characters, but the same sort of gameplay as their console origins. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is the second kind.

The story of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon goes like this: The main character from the other games, an expert vampire hunter, has been kidnapped by Dracula. Now it's up to you to save him. Playing as Nathan you must rescue your teacher and defeat dracula!

The game brings back some of the classic Super NES gameplay but adds some elements from the Playstation version as well. Life is based on an RPG system, where hitting someone causes a number to appear showing how much you've hurt them. You can also increase your power by earning experience points and gaining more levels.

The controls are a lot more complicated than most other games for the Game Boy Advance. A is to jump, B is to use your whip. Eventually you'll learn a bunch of moves you can use with combinations of A,R and the control pad. Select pulls up a great map which can help you find your way around the place.

Looks like another great platformer for the Game Boy Advance. Don't miss out.
