Wheels

Nissan's suspension and steering is not designed for large, monstrous tires. They are designed specifically for stock 15x6" rims and 29" tires. WAY TOO SMALL if you ask me. Hardly any ground clearance, narrow foot print, can't do much but drive on the highway and some mild off road driving. I decided to run Interco's 33x14.5 Super Swamper SSR Radial TSL.

The SSR is very aggresive off road and handles the highway very nicely. Interco tires are also known for having flat-spots after parking the vehicle for a long peroid of time. Having these for about ten months, I've found the tire is way too heavy for the vehicle. I've had to replace the front wheel bearings twice, fixed the steering numerous times. Anyhow, I would not chose this tire again unless I have plans for a straight front suspension or at least a more durable steering system.

My ideal rim and tire combo is Micky Thompson's 31x13.5 Bajas wrapped around Mickey Thompson's 15x12 Alcoas. The width helps keep the vehicle stable and afloat when driving in very soft sand.
