Due to the demise of Gopher USPSA, most of the web site has been shut down. The rest of this web site will probably get turned off this winter. I want to thank everyone who helped make Gopher USPSA a great place to shoot. I also want to thank all the great shooters that supported Gopher USPSA and helped make it what it was. If it wasn't for all the help and support we had gotten over the past several years, we may not have lasted as long as we did. Although we may have been shut down, we are not giving up. We hope to have a new club up and running next year. I just hope we get the kind of support with that as we did when we started up Gopher USPSA. Read more in the message dated 06 NOV 03.
THANK-YOU!!!

Gopher USPSA News from Tim Ubl
I have some good news and some bad news.......depending on your point of view.
First the Good News:
I believe a lot of you may have heard a couple things going on lately with the Gopher USPSA Club. First off......I have stepped down as President of the Gopher USPSA Club and Jeremy McCutchen as taken over the position......please welcome him into his new position. I know he will do a great job as president as we go into our rebuilding years. SO what did that mean?
Are you ready for this?
Well....it is official. The Gopher USPSA club has been kicked out of Gopher Campfire for the 2004 season. At this point, the Board has refused to give us any reasons outside of the fact that they make note that they are conservation club and not a shooting club. Now you know as much as I know. So, we will be changing the name to CENTRAL MINNESOTA PRACTICAL SHOOTERS or 'CMPS' for the time being. The Gopher USPSA club will be defunct at years end.
We are in talks with Waverly and it does look promising to say the least. The people that were instrumental in making the club what it is today will still be involved, just at a different location. The entire core group would be moving some of the equipment there and working to have matches on par with what we've had in the past. Of Course we would be starting over......but the nice thing about Waverly is that they are a shooting club and they do promote shooting. I believe they will welcome us with open arms and will work with us. We will be meeting with their Board the first Monday of December.
Needless to say......we
WILL have a club and will be shooting next year!

Jeremy McCutchen is the official president of Gopher USPSA now. I am getting extended for another year of mobilization and it doesn't look very good that I will be back next summer. Jeremy has been running the events for 2003 and has done an outstanding job! He is already planning for the 2004 Gopher Championship and it looks like he is off to a excellent start. I have no doubt that he will continue with the same attitude that I always followed and that is Gopher USPSA will provide safe, fun and memorable matches for you, the shooters. Our goal has always been to provide an environment that gets shooters wanting to come back. Please welcome Jeremy as our new president.

I finally was able to update the website. Looks to be a great year of shooting this year at Gopher. There are two Steel Matches scheduled along with two weekend USPSA shoots. The USPSA shoots are being planned to be big matches with lots of stages (8 minimum) each.
New this year is the Gopher tournaments. For more info, click here.

Looks like I will be spending my time here at Ft. McCoy, WI. I have been able to get Internet access and should be able to keep the web site updated. Right now it looks like I will be here till the end of 2003 and it is starting to look like I may bee kept here through 2004. The good thing about being here is that I may be able to shoot a match or two this summer if I can get some days off that allow. If anyone would like to get in touch with me, my e-mail address is dwiehr@hutchtel.net.
