(warning this is long because it's a review of 2 shows in one)Okay so my weekend started when I flew out to LA on Nov. 2nd to visit my friend Dawn and to see FUEL, because she had gotten passes from Jeff. We got to the HOB early and met up with some FUELies (Jane, Cindy, Kim, etc..) and hung out till the show started. The first band Breaking Point was awesome, I had heard of them before because Jody(BP's drummer) used to be FUEL's drummer. Then Saliva played and they rocked too! Then FUEl came on and they started with "Last Time" and only played songs off of Sunburn and SLH except for when they played a little Pink Floyd and Carl sang, that was cool! After the show we went upstairs and I gave Carl a necklace and talked to Jeff for a while and told him how I'd flown in from AZ to see the show. Then we went to the Hyatt cuz we heard there was a party goin on there, and we found the Saliva and Breaking Point guys. They are total sweethearts! Jody seemed excited that I knew he used to be in FUEL. Then I called Jeff and he told me to get over to the Argyle for the FUEL/Nescafe party. So we took Jody with us over there and the FUEL guys were happy to see him. We took pictures with FUEL and talked to them and then the party was dying down so we went home. Then Sunday afternoon we went and hung out with BP before the show on the HOB bus. That bus is pretty! We took some cool pictures of them and talked a bit and then they had to go for sound check. When we got our passes that Saliva had left us we went in the side entrance and ran into Brett and his girl Rebecca (they were sooo cute!) Kevin, and Jeff. Then we got a really good spot for this show and found Jane. Breaking Point rocked again! Then I was watching the TV at the bar (they had it on the world series between bands) and the Diamondbacks won!!! That was cool cuz right after that Saliva came onstage and kicked some ass!! Then after Saliva, Jody and Greg from BP came over and they watched FUEL with us...they probably think I am crazy now because I went wild this night!! I mean it was my last night in California and it was FUEL and WOW!!!! I screamed and danced just as much as Mr. Scallions =) ahhhhhh it was awesome!!! They played basically the same set list only towards the end they had Yogi who used to be in Buckcherry come out and they played "Good Times, Bad Times" from Led Zeppelin..it ROCKED!! After the show we went with Jody to get invites to the FUEL party and silly us didn't read them before we walked all the way over there...It was 21+ dammit and I'm not yet...grrrr...So then Jody and Jane went into the party and Dawn was nice enough not to ditch me...we went to the Hyatt to hang with Saliva. We ended up talking to Paul (the drummer) and he is the sweetest guy!! We went upstairs and got to see their new gold records and me and him switched face plates on our phones cuz we had the same ones hahaha. Yeah and since I had to be at the airport by 7am we just decided to stay up all night. Then we went to Josey's room I think it was because there were more people up there. It was Josey, Paul, and Dave from Saliva....Brett from BP and his sister... Dawn, Tony(her cool friend), and me. We just hung out and talked for hours. I talked a lot with Dave. He's a very nice guy! Plus he's beautiful. Oh yeah all three bands re from Tenessee so they have cool accents! We had to leave at 6am to get to the airport so I said my good-byes and that I'd see them in AZ on Friday. That was such an awesome weekend! I dunno what I did to deserve that!
