My friend Kathryn and I drove about 6 hours from AZ and got to the House of Blues at around 6pm and there was already a line outside. The weather in CA was nice! The show started at 8pm and we got up to the front left side of the stage. Greenwheel opened up with an awesome set! The lead singer has a great stage presence. Then Audiovent came on and they seemed to have even more of a following in CA than in AZ because the crowd was really into it. Then it was time for Our Lady Peace and the sound was awesome!! No technical problems, which is great because I hated seeing them so frustrated in AZ. They started with All For You and then Do You Like It. Basically the same set list as the last show... Naveed/Life, Not Enough, OMA, Mafia, Story About A Girl, Clumsy, Supermans Dead, Is Anybody Home, Innocent, Bring Back the Sun, Are You Sad, and they had Automatic Flowers on the setlist but they didn't play it :( that's Kathryn's song so she was kinda bummed. They played Starseed as the last song before the encore which was Somewhere Out There, Birdman (this song is awesome live!!), and 4am. During OMA Raine climbed up on the speakers on the left of the stage and wanted to climb up to the balcony, but it didn't look very possible or safe so he just sang the whole song from the speaker. It was great that there were people in the crowd shouting Steve's name. He probably enjoyed the support. Steve was just perfect on guitar he was more into than I've ever seen and he worked the stage more than usual, it just rocked! He is one of the best guitarists I've heard in a long time, talent. Before the encore he tried to throw me some pics but non actually made it to me, those things are awkward to throw, so after the show he tossed me a bottle of water which was perfect because I was really thirsty (thanks Steve!). Afterward we went outside for a bit and it was actually cold :) then when we came back in we started talking to this cool security guard and the guys came walking past to get to the elevator, they were in a hurry though to go sign the cds people bought. oh yeah and while they were getting on the elevator we happened to acquire all access passes (I'm not saying how though, it was really strange), so we went upstairs and waited for the long line of people to trickle down and then they wouldn't let us in there to talk to them because we didn't buy the cd at the show (how rude) so we left to head out on our 6 hour drive home. Sleep? Definitly worth the drive. I miss those guys already. It'll probably be another year or so before they come back out this way :( and I'll be forgotten. But I have to end this review happy because the show ROCKED!!!
