Finger Eleven Reviews

Hopefully I will have the opportunity to add onto this as soon as possible, and many more times! :)

Tucson, AZ, April 4th, 2003

Drove down to the Rialto Tucson completely excited to see Finger Eleven for my first time. The first band Pacifier was pretty good. Finger Eleven was up next and I was so happy I was banging on the barrier embarrassing my friend. Finally they were onstage! The setlist was Complicated Questions, Above, Absent Elements, Drag You Down, Good Times, and Sad Exchange. They were so amazing! James dancing around, Rick spinning and making faces, Sean rocking the bass, Rich banging the hell out of the drums, and Scott singing his heart out! After the show I went outside, didn’t worry about missing Trust Co. and Sevendust, and Scott and Sean were out there. I walked up and said something like, "Thank you for finally coming to Arizona!"I asked Sean if he could put me on the list for tomorrow’s 21+ show and he did, so nice. Then got some pictures with them. Scott asked us to go out drinking with him, but I couldn’t go, not 21. Talked to him about the new CD, I asked if there would be slower songs showing off his wonderful voice, and he said that there were more slow songs. Then he went to take a shower and said he’d see us later. So Jason and I went to the diner down the street and ran into Jon and Tom from Pacifier, so we told them they had a good show. After eating we went back to the venue and no one was around there so I decided it would be best for me to make the long drive home, I was tired.

Got to Nita’s early with Kathryn and waited out front, got bored and walked around the back and saw the Pacifier guys. When the box office opened I went to get my tickets and was told that even though I was on the list, since I wasn’t 21 they wouldn’t let me in. So I watched Pacifier play from a window hahaha and they did good. There was no way I was missing Finger Eleven though, so we snuck in. The guys showed up in their van right before they had to go on, and I asked Sean if he could get the guys to sign the shirt I had made and worn the night before, so he took it back to them. We met some nice guys that had driven from Fresno, CA to see Finger Eleven, that was pretty cool. Then we went inside and got up front to rock out! They played (not sure what order) First Time, Sad Exchange, Absent Elements, Panic Attack, Above, and Good Times. Went back outside then the guys came out to talk to us, one at a time hahaha, and I got some pictures with them. Found out Rick is an AFI fan, pretty cool, James was really quiet he seemed tired, and they can’t wait for the CD to come out (they can’t wait, what about us?). Rich said he would play it for us if they had a bus (damn saving money hahaha). Scott recommended some new music to me, Smiths and Morrisey and some other guy I forget his name though :(. Scott is a Jeff Buckley fan, right on! Rich stood out there and talked to us, used my chapstick hahaha, it’s dry here in AZ. After sitting around in the cold with Scott we decided to go inside for some Sevendust. I lost Scott in the crowd when one of the Pacifier dudes said something to me and I turned around, sorry Scott. So I went over and watched a bit of Sevendust with Tom from Pacifier, he’s a cool dude. After the show I talked to Sean about the music business and college, etc… Then I said good bye and went to find Kathryn. It was a good night!!
