Slipped
By

I slipped today,
On a banana peel it was,
Which caused this,
A chain reaction
Of preposterous events…
My shoe flew off as I fell
And hit an old lady
In the head.
She stumbled for her balance
And struck a ladder.
The ladder slipped
Off the building in which it leaned.
A man fell off the ladder.
The ladder fell on the man,
And a dog leapt from the alley,
Startled by the commotion,
And bit a postman
On his leg.
Into the street
The dog did go,
Causing turmoil.
A bus hit the dog,
As it swerved over a hydrant.
The onrush of water
Which blinded two cars,
And head on they went
Into each other.
More cars pilled into others,
And one gas tank ruptured.
Gas mixed with the water
And floated down the street
Right to a pedestrian
Striking a match
To light his cigarettes.
The fumes ignited
And the street
Leaped into flames.
Vehicles exploded,
And building burned
All because I slipped
On a stupid banana peel…
The End
