Light
By
Christopher J. Thomasson
I leave my distant home,
A distant star, unknown, unnamed.
My destination is anywhere, everywhere.
I am a ray of light.
Through the universe I travel,
From one galaxy to the next.
Quick as a thought,
I am a ray of light.
I pass a planet, a misty ball of gas,
Then I’m almost trapped by blackness,
A swirling thing in which even I can’t escape.
I am a ray of light.
For years I travel,
For lifetimes
For eternity
I am a ray of light.
Did you see me?
I’m here, then gone.
Did you see me?
I am a ray of light.
The End
