Magic Rattle Pooh—A Mechanism Description

 

Introduction

Magic Rattle Pooh (figure 1), is a soft plush likeness of Winnie the Pooh. Magic Rattle Pooh, made of soft plush fabric electronics and plastic, is about one and a half pounds. Magic Rattle Pooh is 11 inches tall, 5 inches deep and 13 inches wide. Magic Rattle Pooh consists of 2 visible parts and 3 invisible parts:  stuffed animal, receiver, mechanics, rattle, and transmitter.

Stuffed animal

The stuffed animal is the main part of the toy, made of various colored plush fabrics, houses the receiver and mechanics.

 

Receiver

The receiver, a small electrical piece, detects the shaking of the rattle.

 

Mechanics

The mechanics, made of plastic and metal, hidden within the plush stuffed animal, causes Magic Rattle Pooh to shake and talk when the receiver sends a signal.

 

Rattle

The rattle, made of plastic and internal electronics, creates a rattling noise.

 

Transmitter

The transmitter, a piece of electronics housed within the rattle, transmits a signal when the rattle moves or shakes.
