The Writing
I have been writing fanfiction of some form or another since I was in elementary school. Impressive, no? Actually, the answer to that is "no." There was oh, so much bad Mary Sue.
I've been writing and posting fanfiction consistantly for just over two years. It was about that long ago that I was first introduced to the concept of slash, which I immediately loved and wanted to create. I write mostly slash now, though I have enjoyed writing het. I very rarely write or attempt Mary Sue fic, and tend to stay away from creating original characters in a starring role. I believe there is a time and a place for this type of fiction, and in my case, this is neither.
I post fiction to two Yahoo mailing lists, one for hockey and one for general slash. However, everything posted there will appear here.
The Fandoms
Hockey
Having grown up in the Detroit, Michigan area, there was no way I could grow up untouched by hockey. I have been a Red Wings fan all of my life, and I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. This is reflected in my writing also; most of the stories feature players from my hometown team. I do, however, follow the sport of hockey consistantly, and so expect to see fic featuring players from many different teams. Although I began reading wrestling fic first, this was the fandom for which I first wrote, and the one in which I've been the most prolific.
Wrestling
I've been watching wrestling on and off since the late 1980s, back in the hey day of Hulk Hogan, when Demolition were my heros and Miss Elizabeth, may she rest in peace, was the most beautiful woman on earth. I've been watching the WWE consistantly (ie, every week) since about 1999. I did not watch WCW or ECW (sadly), though I am a fan of many of the wrestlers who worked there. My current favorites on the shows are Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Rob Van Dam, Kane, Eric Bischoff, and Stephanie McMahon. You'll find this is reflected in my writing.
This is the fandom where I was first introduced to the concept of fanficion; where I first began reading, and where I first began to think "I could do this." I haven't written very much in this fandom; however, I have many ideas that I hope to turn into stories in the near future.
