A general overview of the last few months
"Of Deeper Darkness and other Evils..."
Previously, after having perform the task of retrieving the Mirror of the Ages for the Righteous Man, the Striders of Fharlanghan with the aid of the Crimson Highwaymen saw to it that the Righteous Man was revealed for who he really was to Pholtan authorities. He was forced to flee, opening a portal to the Plane of Shadow within his guildhouse and moving to a Night Knives guildhouse located in Coranthor. There he waited.
At the same time the mercenaries he hired (Shi-Nu, Quintas, and Pelias Quickenfit) were headed to a secreted Temple of Mask that supposedly contained a piece of the Staff of Dis. After braving the many hazards of the Temple, and releasing many of the undead there from their eternal servitude to Mask, they retrieved the staff piece from deep inside the Temple and came outside to meet with members of the guild, who had orders to Shadow Walk the group to Coranthor.
After going about several different tasks and quests for various parties Quintas, followed by a newcomer to the group: Lank, went missing for a few days. It soon became apparent to Pelias and Shi-Nu that they were being picked off one at a time, and eventually they tracked down their hunter. He turned out to be none other then "The Fixer" himself, Francois Fel'delase. After some parleying between him Shi-Nu, and Pelias they eventually learned that his mission was to capture the pieces of the Staff of Dis that were within the Righteous Man's possession, and that he had captured Quintas and Lank in an effort to learn more about the Guildhouse.
Taking them deep within the Lancel Forest they discussed and put into motion their plans to take the guildhouse and slay the Righteous Man. Due to the center of the forest being a dead magic zone they were fairly certain that they were safe from the ever watchful eye of the Righteous Man. It was decided that the elves, all 13 of them, were to distract and engage the main bulk of the guild while at the same time the mercenaries would work their way to the top of the guildhouse where the Righteous Man stays to kill him and retrieve the staff pieces.
Coming in through the sewers and ascending a secret staircase into the guildhouse the group did just that, fighting all the way to the 3rd floor of the guildhouse encountering many of the officers of the guild as they went. (amongst the dead were the ranking members Dren "The Doer" Durgensmithe, Victoria Flaminresi, Osbourne Lightfoot, and Magnus Blackblade as well as the Righteous Man's lieutenants whose names are unknown at this time) The Righteous Man himself was killed by the combined efforts of Lank, Shi-Nu, and Pelias, his evil life force finally snuffed out by the blades of Shi-Nu. This battle had a heavy toll, however. Thadius, an Arcane Archer of the Elven Pantheon lay dead at the hands of Glim Waywhocket and his iron golem, as well as the rest of the elves who accompanied the group. (bar Francois, who survived) The group last left off right after the death of the Righteous Man, with Francois informing them all that they're going to have company soon.
