Rules and Regulations

- Basics
- This is a 2v2 bubble hockey league that is played at bw3.
- Teams play once a week at bw3 in a round robin against other teams, then a playoff at the end of the year will be played to determine the winner.
- Registration
- Sign up your team with one of the officials by April 11th, 2003.
- Turn in your $6 to one of the officials by April 11th, 2003.
- Each team must have two regular players, and list two alternate players that can take the place of the two regular players.
- Each person on the team must give a team name, players name, phone number, and optional email address.
- Each team must give the days of the week they are able to play, to figure out scheduling.
- Play
- Each team will play at least one match a week, consisting of a best two of three games.
- The teams will be required to record the scores of each game of the matches they play.
- The winning team is responsible for turning in the scores to an official.
- An alternate can be someone from another team.
- Only one player is needed to play a match, and that one player can be a designated alternate player, as long as that alternate is not someone from the opposing team.
- A non-designated alternate can be used if there is one regular player present, and that non-designated alternate is in the league and is not competing that night.
- During playoffs, two players must be present, consisting of at least one regular player, and no non-designated alternate can play during playoffs.
- Each team will be assigned home or away for each match played, the home team is responsible for paying. Failure to pay results in a 1-0 forfeit. But, if the away team is willing to pay, they are urged to do so.
- Any physical agression against an opposing team or damage done to bw3 property will result in automatic forfeit of those nights games, and a second violation will result in expulsion from the league without refund.
- Any arguments or discrepencies in the rules must be taken up with the officials and prompt and decisive ruling will result.
- If any official is involved with the argument or discrepency, that official will not be involved in the ruling.

- Playoffs
- Each team will be seeded by their performance in the regular season, by order of tie breaker listed below.
- The tournament will be set up NCAA basketball tournament style.
- If odd number of teams, the highest ranked seed(s) will get a bye in the first round.
- The tournament is single elimination and follows the rules of play listed above.
- The winner will receive most of the money, the runner up will receive some of the money, and both will be presented with plaques.

- Scheduling
- Each team will be required to play once a week.
- Depending on when teams can play, the day of the week is not known, but may be Thursday for most.
- Teams may be put into Conferences, depending on number of teams and the days the teams can play.
- Days that you play can be flexible week to week, but failure to play during a week will result in all your matches in forfeits.
- If you cannot make your scheduled game, then an official must be notified the day before and a better date for you to play must be given.
