Character’s Name: Hack
Character’s Age: 31
Character’s Appearance: Hack is a survivor. He’s short, stout, and dark. He sports a military-style haircut with constantly fuzzed cheeks, with brilliant green eyes peering out from under heavy eyebrows. Usually wears dark jeans with kneepads and shin guards, and sturdy boots. Wears a long-sleeve shirt with flak jacket and wrist guards with cut-finger gloves.
Character’s Personality: Hack is a well-known fighter, resigned with constant struggle and has shaped his philosophies to fit into his life. He’s very calm and seemingly bored with his situation, also hating humanity for their wounding of the planet. One might think he’s jaded to the war-torn world, but on the contrary, he relishes in what little beauty there is left. Hack fights to survive, if only to live to experience nature. Even the light playing in the smoke-shrouded sky captivates him. He’s truly high on life, though he rarely shows it in his stoic countenance.
Character’s Position: Hack is a common Digerati fighter with no distinguishing features besides his unnerving silence and grim efficiency. He has a passion for art, and is often seen sketching his surroundings when he’s free from, or even on duty. He finds no purpose in money, and lives however he can, sleeping under trees or ledges, and eating fruit or natural items he plucks during his wanderings.
Character’s Main Weapon(s):
Hack despises weapons, seen in the names he gives them, yet he quietly uses them to fight the robotic menace.
Defiler and Scourge: twin semi-automatic pistols carried at his sides, loaded with charged ammo that short-circuit machinery upon impact
Redrum: a 12-inch combat knife worn on his left arm
Sin: a laser-guided sniper rifle, fires high-voltage energy cartridges that short-circuit and detonate on impact
Character’s Top Subjects in School: Excelled in art, biology, anatomy, and history. One wonders if his views on life were shaped by these classes, or merely tempered.
Character’s Token Quotes:
“...”
“Forgive me.”
“Machines...we should have stopped at pencil and paper...”
Character’s Past-Times: Said above, Hack enjoys sketching. He doesn’t read, preferring simply to observe everything himself and learning his own lessons.
Character’s Background: Hack was a quiet child, grown into a quiet man. He was enamored of technology as a child, marveling at man’s ingenuity and inventiveness, though quickly coming to loathe these things he called “unnatural”. He took to studying day and night, sinking only deeper into despair as he learned of the past and the inevitable future. His parents were of the same sort-- middle-class, educated, and lost to hope. Though he hasn’t shared it with anyone, he joined the Digerati with the secret wish that he would be killed, since he lacked the courage to do so himself. Fate is cruel, he learned, and he survived numerous battles with the mechanized enemy. During his service, he developed his love of living things, though not necessarily for himself.
