St. Rose sign

St. Rose of Lima Parish Cemetery is located in the Sandy Hook area of Newtown, Connecticut, off of Cherry Street. The oldest stones seem to date from the 1860s, and it is clearly still in use. There are a few remarkable stones, and several interesting monuments. Several of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting (14 December 2012) were laid to rest here.

Estimated number of interments, as of January 2024: at least 2658.

Photos were taken 11 August 2019.
