- THREE STRIKE COUNTY LAY HASTINGS TO REST--------------Yesterday saturday 21st county made the long trip to Hasting. With Hastings already in the relegation scrap and Newport scared of being dragged in this was going to be a hard foght match. The first half an hour saw possesion fluxuate between the two sides until on 35mins matt Rose put county on top. This was later cancelled out by Duncan McArthur on the hour mark. It looked as if Hastings could hold on to their point but on the 80th minute newport got a penalty. Top scorer Shepered ran up and put it past the keeper. The game was thought to be over with people already leaving no one could see anything else happening here, those people are in with a shock as Raith Plant exadurated county's victory by scoring his first goal since christmas. The final score newport 3 hastings 1.
- THE SECOND GULF WAR---------------------Although this is not football news I have to say that two ITV journalists have become casualties of this war.
- CARDIFF ARE COMING TO TOWN.-----------On monday 22 of march cardiff city (ex arch nemesis) are popping in for a visit. However with a side containing cardiffs reserves and away support of little over one hundered its not expected to be a blakpool-esque affair. But with it live on the BBC it is much anticipated by the hardcore fan expect more news soon.
- MOUNTAIN OUT FOR THE COUNT-Y------------Pat mountain county's top class regular goal keeper was stretchered off last saturday in newports home match against cambridge. He was rushed to hospital where he stayed over night . The final verdict was that he would miss the rest of the campaign due to a chipped knee. However stand in keeper Gareth Wesson has played two fabulous games so far both recording wins, our first since January.
