********************************************
(437) DM: At the start of the session, you are in the market square, just having regrouped after doign some individual purchases
(439) Jeremiah: no
(437) DM: where do you go?
(432) Kerrick: we could go to the catacombs, but we cannot fight
(432) Kerrick: we cannot heal
(439) Jeremiah: Then Let's take teh old guy
(429) Fungia: "Let's stop by the temple on the way to the caves"
(432) Kerrick: the old guy?
(432) Kerrick: the temple was just what I was thinking
(437) DM: Seebor is the old cleric
(437) DM: vote - majority picks the direction
(439) Jeremiah: old guy
** (435) Taura agrees **
(429) Fungia: temple to see the old guy
(435) Taura: What Fungia said
** (429) Fungia picks his nose and found ... nothing **
(432) Kerrick: right, let's go see Seebor
(437) DM: You head to the side of teh square dominated by the temple
(432) Kerrick: OOC: assuming Ic an do that
** (429) Fungia searches for an enterence **
(437) DM: the sides of the temple are wide open
(437) DM: you can walk right into the ground floor
(437) DM: there are few people there
(429) Fungia: "Follow me, lets go in"
(439) Jeremiah: ooc brb
(437) DM: four towers reach up, each with a door facing the inside that is huge - 15 feet tall and 5 feet wide
** (432) Kerrick eyes Fungia... **
** (435) Taura heads in **
(437) DM: at the center is an altar, made of white stone
(437) DM: otherwise, the place is fairly empty
** (429) Fungia call out to see if anyone is here **
(437) DM: there are some people around, but you see no clerics
** (435) Taura looks for passing clerics **
(437) DM: nearby are hundred of people in the bazzaar, who look at you funny
(437) DM: for calling out
** (429) Fungia walks to the altar **
(437) DM: there are two people kneeling and praying near the altar
(437) DM: peasant folk
** (439) Jeremiah goes to the door we went through with Seebor to see if it's unlocked **
(437) DM: it is
(439) Jeremiah: "Come on...let's go"
(429) Fungia: lead the way
** (435) Taura heads to Jeremiah **
(439) Jeremiah: we go in
(437) DM: there is a smaller door cut into the large, giant - sized door, and you head right in
(437) DM: the room beyond is smaller, about 15 feet across and 15 deep
(437) DM: to the right half are stairs going up
** (429) Fungia thinks these are really large doors **
(432) Kerrick: let's go up
** (435) Taura follows **
(439) Jeremiah: ooc where do these stairs go? :)
(437) DM: the left half has a table and some chairs... it's murky dark in here, and you can't see to the back well
(432) Kerrick: ooc: they go up
** (429) Fungia removes his torch stone from his pouch **
** (435) Taura admires Fungia's puch **
(437) DM: With the added light, you realize there is something back there, under teh stairs
** (429) Fungia thinks Taura should mind his own business **
(432) Kerrick: I think you should come out from unde those stairs.
** (429) Fungia moves closer **
(437) DM: Headed back to look around, you see it is a tarp draped across the stairs
(437) DM: pushing it aside, you see more stairs... going down
** (432) Kerrick grins **
(435) Taura: Where do these stairs go?
(432) Kerrick: down
(432) Kerrick: let's go
** (429) Fungia looks down the stairway into the darkness **
(437) DM: up or down?
(437) DM: who's first
(437) DM: ?
(439) Jeremiah: alright. Now we're getting somewhere!
(432) Kerrick: down
(435) Taura: me
(439) Jeremiah: if it's dark, I'm not first
(432) Kerrick: ooc: down and to the left
(435) Taura: Or maybe the monk?
(435) Taura: with the light?
(439) Jeremiah: I'll follow up behind to guard KErrick
(429) Fungia: " I will go first"
(432) Kerrick: ok
(437) DM: headed down, you go about 3 flights of stairs worth before you find any difference
** (435) Taura follows Fungia **
** (432) Kerrick follow taura **
(439) Jeremiah: etc.
(437) DM: there, the stairs, here narrow, about 6 feet across, flatten to a landing, about 10 by 10, with another large door in front of you, 15 feet high
(437) DM: You also notice on the stairs... every third step is a different color stone
(439) Jeremiah: "not giant-sized"
(437) DM: as if whoever built these man-sized steps put small ones between teh giant steps
(437) DM: Giant sized door in front of you, no small man door cut into it
(437) DM: Fungia's burning light-stone shows the way
(432) Kerrick: see how the clerics drove ot the giants and claimed this as their own?
(437) DM: what do you do?
(432) Kerrick: can anyone open that door?
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (439) Jeremiah...
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (435) Taura...
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (432) Kerrick...
(437) DM: no one has tried
(435) Taura: I'll try
** (435) Taura heads up to the door **
** (435) Taura tries to open it **
(437) DM: Kerrick pushes on the door, and it creaks but does not budge
(437) DM: something is barring it from the other side
(429) Fungia: "Taura, use your axe"
** (435) Taura takes out the axe **
(437) DM: make a STR check
** (435) Taura hits the door **
(435) Taura: 1d20+3
(435) Taura: [1d20+3] -> [4,3] = (7)
(435) Taura: ooc boo
(437) DM: you hack about 15 times, then stop panting
(437) DM: you have accomplished little
(437) DM: the door is very hard
(435) Taura: Jeremiah, would you like to rtry?
(439) Jeremiah: I suppose
** (429) Fungia knocks on the door **
(437) DM: go for it
(437) DM: no response to the knocking
(439) Jeremiah: do strength checks get bonuses?
(439) Jeremiah: ror just the d20?
(437) DM: STR
(437) DM: 1d20 + STR
(439) Jeremiah: [1d20] -> [3] = (3)
(437) DM: so 6?
(439) Jeremiah: ....
(432) Kerrick: *sigh*
(439) Jeremiah: ooc : I have a cloud of bad luck over me
(437) DM: YOu also hack at the door until you start to tire, and have made little effort. A few small wood chips sit at your feet
(439) Jeremiah: I wanted to just push at it
(437) DM: go for it
(437) DM: push!
(439) Jeremiah: either way...
(439) Jeremiah: [1d20] -> [12] = (12)
(439) Jeremiah: occ get oall my suck-ass rolls ot of the wya now :)
(437) DM: not much more than taura... creaking
(439) Jeremiah: ooc I can't type....I can't believe you hired me, Mark
(437) DM: then it settles back to where is started
(439) Jeremiah: so...where's it latched?
** (429) Fungia wants to try **
(437) DM: you might have budged that an inch
(437) DM: you see no latch, nor hinges
(437) DM: just big verticle slats of wood
(435) Taura: Fungia, with the Axe?
(429) Fungia: [1d20+2] -> [1,2] = (3)
(437) DM: Fungia screws up with the ase
(435) Taura: OOC wow
(437) DM: it turns in his hand
(437) DM: and he smashes an elbow on the door badly
(437) DM: take 1 damage
(439) Jeremiah: ooc HEY
(432) Kerrick: I might as well try to push this thing
(432) Kerrick: ooc: he cuts his middle finger?
(439) Jeremiah: ooc right...that's what I thought he was going to say
(437) DM: each of you tries some pushing, to little effect
(435) Taura: How about pull the door?
(432) Kerrick: nothing to grab taura
(437) DM: nothing to grab to pull.
(432) Kerrick: how about all three of you charge the door at once?
(435) Taura: just making sure
(439) Jeremiah: How about we stick that axe into the door at and angle and then pull
** (429) Fungia takes his Kama and slides it under the door... **
(437) DM: it fits
** (429) Fungia then tries to pull **
(437) DM: you turn the handle, and it grips on the far side
(437) DM: you'd guess the door is about 4 inches thick
(437) DM: pulling gets you nowhere either, though
(439) Jeremiah: "We must looks like a bunch of mice trying to get at a piece of cheese in the local inn's kitchen
(437) DM: any more plans, or do you head back up?
(432) Kerrick: are you three going to charge the door?
(432) Kerrick: I'll even charge with you
** (439) Jeremiah gets on the floor and looks under the door for a pin or something that's holding it to the floor **
(435) Taura: do we take a running start?
(432) Kerrick: sure
(437) DM: you see nothing
(435) Taura: Fungia, Jeremiah? A charge?
(437) DM: then you back up, charge forward, and slam the door as a group
(437) DM: ONE of you can make one combined str roll with a bonus
(437) DM: +2+3+3+1+1+1
(437) DM: =+11 total
(435) Taura: Who rolls best?
(429) Fungia: "not I"
(439) Jeremiah: [1d20+11] -> [12,11] = (23)
(439) Jeremiah: average
(437) DM: You slam into the door, and it more than creaks
(432) Kerrick: again
(432) Kerrick: this time I'm going with you
(437) DM: the hinge, or bar, or whatever on the left side gives a bit, and now the door is loose by about an inch
(437) DM: kerrick would only be in the say
(437) DM: *way
(439) Jeremiah: can we see what the heck is there now?
(437) DM: no
(439) Jeremiah: again!
(437) DM: the three human clubs---- FORT Checks
(429) Fungia: go
(439) Jeremiah: "this is a bad idea..."
(437) DM: FORT checks!
(429) Fungia: ooc: ?
(435) Taura: [1d20+5] -> [13,5] = (18)
(439) Jeremiah: [1d20+6] -> [3,6] = (9)
(439) Jeremiah: crap
(437) DM: nder saving throws
(437) DM: 1d20 + FORT number
(429) Fungia: [1d20+3] -> [11,3] = (14)
(437) DM: Jeremiah hurt his shoulder a bit hitting the door.... 1 damage
(437) DM: the others are okay
(437) DM: now you can hit the door again
(439) Jeremiah: again!
(439) Jeremiah: [1d20+11] -> [16,11] = (27)
(435) Taura: go
(429) Fungia: go!
(437) DM: You smash into the door, expecting to be stopped, and it bursts open
(437) DM: the hinges on the right swing, as the bar on the left gives from it's holder in the wall
** (432) Kerrick is ready to magic anything that comes through **
(437) DM: beyond, through teh stirred up dust, you see a large, murky dark chamber
(439) Jeremiah: barred from the inside
(437) DM: no monsters
(439) Jeremiah: any tracks in the dust ont he floor
(439) Jeremiah: ?
(437) DM: it extends at least 50 feet out before you can see no more
(437) DM: no tracks
(437) DM: nothing
** (435) Taura checks for tracks **
** (429) Fungia enters with torch stone in hand **
(437) DM: the air is so stale, it chokes slightly
(439) Jeremiah: "Guess the clercis couldn't get through that door, either. Or maybe they didn't want to
(437) DM: walkign in cautiously, you realize you are in a store-room of sorts
(437) DM: directly across from you, and 90 degrees on either side is another large door, similarly barred from the inside
(432) Kerrick: giant proportions?
(437) DM: between teh doors are high piles of old, giant sized furnishings, tables, boxes, things like that
(437) DM: everythign in here is giant-sized
(437) DM: the room is probably 120 feet across, round
(432) Kerrick: at least they didn't get in here
(437) DM: In the middle is a raised dias, one giant-step high
(437) DM: what do you do?
** (435) Taura looks to see if anything is on the dias **
(432) Kerrick: get onto the dias
(432) Kerrick: at least we can see better
(432) Kerrick: anyone want to help me up, please?
** (435) Taura helps Kerric **
(437) DM: The dias is about 20 feet across, and in the middle it is hollowed out
(439) Jeremiah: let's get into those boxes!
(432) Kerrick: don't touch anything!!
(437) DM: the basin inside it about 15 feet across, and about 6 feet deep
(437) DM: smooth and rounded
(432) Kerrick: anything inscribed up on this dias or int he basin?
(437) DM: the boxes are not topped, and inside you see mostly mildewed cloth and what might once, hundreds of years ago, have been food
(439) Jeremiah: any stains in or on this thing?
(437) DM: there are some similar runes to what you saw down below
(439) Jeremiah: blood, hard water...
(437) DM: too much dust and not enough light to tell
(437) DM: everyone make spot checks
(439) Jeremiah: [1d20+3] -> [5,3] = (8)
(435) Taura: [1d20+7] -> [10,7] = (17)
(439) Jeremiah: i suck
(432) Kerrick: [1d20+1] -> [2,1] = (3)
(437) DM: Taura notices that behind some of the boxes is another giant sized door
(429) Fungia: [1d20+8] -> [5,8] = (13)
(439) Jeremiah: "It's dark in here...."
(437) DM: he slides some stuff out of teh way, and sees that this one is not barred
(439) Jeremiah: two doors to choose from
(437) DM: it is roughly next to the one you just came through
(439) Jeremiah: what do yousuppose this basin was usedfor?
(435) Taura: Toliet
(439) Jeremiah: in a store room? maybe washing?
(437) DM: looking around more, you can barely make out the outlines of more doors, each matching with one of teh ones on the right angles, not barred
(437) DM: and between them, the walls are not cut stone
(437) DM: but more like loose stone, or perhaps packed dirt
(439) Jeremiah: Kerrick...mind if I wipe the dust from this basin?
(437) DM: you wipe some dust from the edge of teh basin, and see that it is has a blue-ceramic glaze
(432) Kerrick: *shrug*
(437) DM: searching around, you see no giant books, scrolls, or magic items
(432) Kerrick: do we see anything useful in here?
(432) Kerrick: if not, let's check ot those other doors
(437) DM: it looks like a mundane store room
(429) Fungia: pick one
** (432) Kerrick hops down and moves to the door next to the where we came in **
(437) DM: if you came through at 12 oclock
(432) Kerrick: the door next to where we broke through
(437) DM: you can pick from 1, 3/4, 6/7, or 9/10
(432) Kerrick: let's go to 1:00 then
(437) DM: very good.
(437) DM: you get up close, and can't reach the handle with is about 9 feet up
(437) DM: but you get a finger hold and it creaks and moans as youpull it open
(435) Taura: What if I hold you up Kerrick?
(437) DM: more dust stirs, and you cough and cover your eyes
(437) DM: but it soon settles
(437) DM: and you see another landing, about 10x10
(442) Jeremiah (enter): 20:18
(437) DM: with more stairs, these going down
(442) Jeremiah: There was a potter in Corrab who used to fire some of his work for teh rich folk with a blue glaze like this....
(442) Jeremiah: ooc adelphia just ate a big one
(432) Kerrick: let's go down
(435) Taura: We head down
(437) DM: these go down to the right, like a circle around the center of teh room
(429) Fungia: let's go
(437) DM: these steps have not been modified, and are still giant-sized
(437) DM: each is about 2 and a half feet tall, and maybe 3 long
(437) DM: you head down about 20 steps
** (435) Taura helps Kerrick if he needs it **
(437) DM: and come to a landing with an arched openning towards teh center of teh temple
(437) DM: and more stairs up ahead, continuing down
(442) Jeremiah: I look throug the arch
** (429) Fungia searches the archway **
** (432) Kerrick waits **
** (435) Taura also searches the arch **
(437) DM: the archway opens to a large space
(437) DM: with nothing that can be seen
(437) DM: Fungia feels like he has been here before
(437) DM: he heads forward, and sees an edge
(437) DM: overlooking a great, large hole in the floor
(437) DM: what do you do?
** (429) Fungia cautiously approaches the hole with his torch stone **
** (432) Kerrick looks behind the party for any followers **
(437) DM: it looks down into a great black abyss
** (435) Taura lies down on the floor, next to Fungia and crawls up to the hole **
(437) DM: you hear nothing but some faint echoes of your own words
(437) DM: you'd guess, by the curve, it's over 100 feet across
** (442) Jeremiah takes a moment to scratch his shoulder nad pull out his sword **
(442) Jeremiah: "this place makes me nervous
(437) DM: looking around other than into the hole
(437) DM: you see nothing of interest
(437) DM: walls cut of smooth stone
(442) Jeremiah: "these giants were impressive creatures
(437) DM: perhaps some runes, but it is hard to say
** (442) Jeremiah pulls out one of his make-shift torches **
(432) Kerrick: is this a storage pit perhaps?
(442) Jeremiah: ooc do we have a light?
(435) Taura: What if we drop a stone into it?
(442) Jeremiah: Let's just toss a torch down there and see what shows up
(437) DM: Fungia's torch stone
(442) Jeremiah: any pebbles around?
** (435) Taura looks for some pebbles **
(437) DM: you drop a copper piece, and hear it ping off the ground below about 5 seconds later
(432) Kerrick: ok
(442) Jeremiah: "Too far down for me, thanks"
(432) Kerrick: let's go back
** (429) Fungia thinks that wasn't a good idea **
(442) Jeremiah: Dungeon, maybe
(429) Fungia: "Too much noise...we should continue heading down"
(437) DM: you head back to the stairs... up or down?
(432) Kerrick: yes
(429) Fungia: down
(432) Kerrick: let's go back to the storage room
(442) Jeremiah: if we're afraid of waking something, why go down and hole ourselves up tighter?
(442) Jeremiah: let's go up and try another door
(437) DM: you head up
(432) Kerrick: who's afraid
(437) DM: go to a different door
(432) Kerrick: let's go to 4
(437) DM: and find another set of giant stairs leading down
(437) DM: you reach another landing, much like the one you came from
(432) Kerrick: to another hole?
(442) Jeremiah: ooc let's make a deal
(437) DM: and find the same large open room
(437) DM: same hole
(442) Jeremiah: let's go down this time
(437) DM: like you went 90 degrees around the circle
(435) Taura: go down
(437) DM: you now head down
(437) DM: this time, it heads for a while, then doubles back on itself
(437) DM: the stairs turn once more another 30 giant-steps down, towards teh center
(437) DM: and come out onto a landing, about 10x15
(437) DM: at the end of the landing is an arched openning
(437) DM: which leads into a huge room or cut stone walls
(437) DM: you cannot see the far side, the ceiling, or much of anything
(442) Jeremiah: we're at the bottom now
(432) Kerrick: it would seem
(442) Jeremiah: where's that copper?
(435) Taura: Wasn't that the other hole?
(437) DM: you have a feeling it was the same hole
(437) DM: that you went around a circle
(442) Jeremiah: ooc the elf doesn't :P
(437) DM: like there are 4 sets of stairs that go around the same central tower
(437) DM: you search around this chamber, and sure enough find your copper sitting around the center of the floor
(429) Fungia: "Let's move to explore the far side"
(442) Jeremiah: find anything else?
(437) DM: this room is big, about 150 feet across, and you find 4 similar arches
(437) DM: each leads to similar stairs, that lead up
(437) DM: but this room is not round, it is square
(442) Jeremiah: I'm looking for anything abnormal in the walls and floor. There's got to be something more here
(437) DM: and at the corners are more arches, which do not lead to stairs
(437) DM: you see some large runes on the walls written up high, but nothing else
** (435) Taura looks for tracks **
(432) Kerrick: I wish someone could read those runes
** (429) Fungia looks at the runes **
(437) DM: refer to map for sketch of room
(429) Fungia: ooc: nice
(437) DM: the star is the stairway you came down
(442) Jeremiah: to the arch to our right!
(432) Kerrick: left
(432) Kerrick: left
(432) Kerrick: left
(437) DM: according to the map
(437) DM: top right?
(437) DM: top left?
(437) DM: which one?
(432) Kerrick: top right
(442) Jeremiah: top-left, according to map
** (442) Jeremiah stares at Kerrick **
(442) Jeremiah: "have it your way"
** (435) Taura follows **
(429) Fungia: top right it is
(432) Kerrick: ooc: wman.. always choose left
(432) Kerrick: ooc: don't you remember? :)
(435) Taura: ooc I do
(442) Jeremiah: ooc oh yeah ;)
(437) DM: you turn left
(437) DM: (the top right)
(437) DM: and head through
(437) DM: beyond the archway, which is about 40 feet long, 20 tall and 20 wide, is another room
(437) DM: this one feels even larger
(437) DM: walls extend out to either side, and you see nothng ahead
(439) Jeremiah (exit): 20:35
(442) Jeremiah: I can't see a thing
(432) Kerrick: well
(432) Kerrick: let's start walking
(432) Kerrick: follow the left wall
(437) DM: straight, or along a wall?
(437) DM: wall
(437) DM: you follow the wall to a corner
(437) DM: and it heads out to the left at about 45 degrees
(437) DM: in teh distance, you can barely make out a far wall, about 80 feet away
(432) Kerrick: let's go
** (435) Taura follows **
(442) Jeremiah: keep moving
(437) DM: going around teh corner, you can see an archway, about 20 high and 20 wide, at the center of the left wall
(437) DM: through the arch, or along the wall?
(432) Kerrick: I guess through the arch
(442) Jeremiah: along the wall
(432) Kerrick: ok
(429) Fungia: agree
(435) Taura: ooc hahaah
(432) Kerrick: Jeremiah
(432) Kerrick: we go along the wall :)
(437) DM: the wall heads around
(437) DM: turning twice back towards teh center
(437) DM: but like an octagon, not a circle this time
(437) DM: you reach the far side, and see another archway
(437) DM: you saw nothing in the room
(437) DM: other than some runes high on the walls
(432) Kerrick: ooc: something tells me these connect up to 3 more rooms just like this one
(442) Jeremiah: could we see in teh center at any point?
(437) DM: yep
(442) Jeremiah: ooc you think so?
(435) Taura: ooc symmetry?
(437) DM: Elves don't know words that big!
(435) Taura: ooc that's why I said OOC
(435) Taura: ooc hehe
(437) DM: through the arch?
** (429) Fungia looks into the archway **
(435) Taura: ooc at least not this elf :)
(435) Taura: yes arch
(437) DM: through the arch is another chamber, after about 40 feet of tunnel again
(437) DM: it looks roughly symmetric to teh one you just came from, at least from what you can see
(437) DM: which wall?
(429) Fungia: left
(432) Kerrick: sure
(435) Taura: go
(437) DM: the outside wall goes straigth for a while, longer than the other did by quite a bit
(437) DM: then you reach a hard corner, turning in
(437) DM: following the wall more, you come to an archway
(437) DM: it looks familiar
(437) DM: in some dust by the corner, at the top of a giant staircase, you see some tracks, that fade off with the dust layer
** (435) Taura checks for tracks. **
(432) Kerrick: do those look like our tracks?
(437) DM: the layer is minimal
(442) Jeremiah: no
(432) Kerrick: ooc: brb!

(429) Fungia: follow the tracks
(437) DM: Fungia thinks he was about at the second X when he saw you guys by the bone pile

** (429) Fungia head over to the bone pile **
** (435) Taura checks for tracks. **

(437) DM: roll initiative

(437) DM: declare actions
(435) Taura: Anyone want to ask it a question?
(437) DM: The giant is attacking

(442) Jeremiah: find us some clerics
(445) Kerrick: I say we go up the stairs inthat room
(445) Kerrick: find Seebor
(442) Jeremiah: sounds good
(437) DM: you locate the boy Semaj in the main temple area, and he quickly fetches Seebor
(445) Kerrick: have him heal Taura
(445) Kerrick: then get our answers
** (442) Jeremiah is sweating quite a bit by now **
(437) DM: Seebor has you lay Taura down in a barracks style room on the top level of the temple
(437) DM: and there he casts his incantations over him
(437) DM: Arast almana orande arande
** (442) Jeremiah watches closely **
(437) DM: [2d8+6] -> [1,4,6] = (11)
(437) DM: heal 11
(435) Taura: ooc +6
(437) DM: heal 11
(437) DM: oh, okay, nm
(437) DM: roger roger
(437) Seebor: So, what brought you up the stairs from teh basement of our fine temple?
(437) Seebor: and what did this to your friend?
(445) Kerrick: a skeletal giant
(437) Seebor: a what?
(437) Seebor: in this temple?
(446) Fungia: "We were searching for you and happend upon a great giant"
(437) Seebor: what made you think I was down there?
(442) Jeremiah: sort of great. maybe ONCE great
(445) Kerrick: in this temple
(437) Seebor: how did you get through the barred doors below?
(445) Kerrick: well we got a little curious
(445) Kerrick: we broke them
(437) Seebor: this is terrible... terrible!
(437) Seebor: first you release teh shadow beast
(437) Seebor: which frees the tomb that none can read and gives it into the hands of some half-orc, if the rumors you are spreading are right
(437) Seebor: then you break down our basement doors and find some skelletal monster?
(437) Seebor: my word...!
(442) Jeremiah: look, we aren't the first people down there!
(442) Jeremiah: we saw footprints!
(437) Seebor: did you?
(445) Kerrick: we dide
(435) Taura: Disconnecting from server...
(435) Taura (exit): 21:54
(445) Kerrick: and I've also heard that a group of thieves meets regularly inthe catacombs on the night of the new and full moons
(437) Seebor: this is the second time you've been down there... tell me, how did you get down there before, if you did not go through the temple?
(445) Kerrick: we wentin thow the thieves go in
(437) Seebor: yes... the Theives' Market
(448) Taura (enter): 21:55
(445) Kerrick: ooc: wb, dude
(437) Seebor: they meet in the burrial chamber of King Raal, under the city
(437) Seebor: many know this
(437) Seebor: we let them do it, because it keeps down the rest of their activities
(437) Seebor: and mayhem
(442) Jeremiah: the footprints were close to the book
(437) Seebor: but the book was still there
(445) Kerrick: yeah well maybe they've started a little exploring of their own down there
(437) Seebor: I do not think the theives go that deeply into the ground
(437) Seebor: but it is possible
(445) Kerrick: maybe Endrin is one of them
(437) Seebor: maybe this half-orc is one indeed
** (448) Taura tries to focus as he tries to push the pain away **
(437) Seebor: perhaps you should go to the market when next it opens... whic, by chance, is tonight!
** (442) Jeremiah hesitates to mention the origins of the three heads **
(437) Seebor: if my calandar is right
(445) Kerrick: yeah... and you expect us oto be able to just walk right in?
(446) Fungia: Disconnecting from server...
(446) Fungia (exit): 21:57
(445) Kerrick: let's assume Endrin is not involved with the thieves
(445) Kerrick: I doubt our unexpected arrival will be taken kindly
(437) Seebor: perhaps not
(437) Seebor: oerhaps not
(445) Kerrick: now if Endrin is involved, we can expect to be attacked immedaitely
(437) Seebor: I wish we had not lost the book
(449) Fungia (enter): 21:58
(445) Kerrick: it wasn't yours to begin with
(437) Seebor: it is bad enough that the .... demon.... is out
(437) Seebor: but now, who knows who might have it
** (437) Seebor sneers at Kerrick during that last bit **
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (448) Taura...
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (449) Fungia...
(442) Jeremiah: Endrin has it. No doubt bringing it to....to...
(442) Jeremiah: what was his name.....
(437) Seebor: I am not sure to whom you are referring, young man
(437) Seebor: Unless you mean the dark god Gruumsh?
(445) Kerrick: *sigh*
** (437) Seebor spits with the word gruumsh **
(442) Jeremiah: When I remember, I'll let you know. I promise
(437) Seebor: very well. I am glad that I could help you, master elf, recover
(437) Seebor: and I am glad that you have defeated whatever evil it was that was down in the depths of this ancient temple
(437) Seebor: but I must return to my duties. There were 3 deaths last nihgt, and I have funerals to prepare
(448) Taura: Thank you for your services
(437) Seebor: good day
** (437) Seebor heads off **
(442) Jeremiah: thank you
(445) Kerrick: three deaths?
** Sorry, don't understand what a /me, is...
(442) Jeremiah: uh oh
(445) Kerrick: I would have expected mor einthis town
** (442) Jeremiah looks around knowingly **
** Sorry, don't understand what a /me, is...
(442) Jeremiah: THOSE three
(It's always all about you, isn't it? No text to emote was provided!)
** (437) Semaj , the boy, attends you **
(449) Fungia: Disconnecting from server...
(449) Fungia (exit): 22:03
(442) Jeremiah: perhaps we should attend the funerals, out of respect
(437) Semaj: there was one man killed in a horse accident
(437) Semaj: but the other two were just old men
(437) Semaj: passed in their sleep
(437) Semaj: can I show you good sirs out?
(442) Jeremiah: at least it was peacfule for them
(445) Kerrick: Semaj, what's gong on in this town?
(442) Jeremiah: that would be kind of you
(445) Kerrick: the Thieve's market.. how many thieves attend?
(445) Kerrick: are outsiders welcome?
** (437) Semaj leads you out, and stands by the collection box as he says **
(437) Semaj: I hope you alwasy remember the help Arast has given you
** (437) Semaj is puzzled... he knows nothing of the theives market **
** (448) Taura Taura leaves 2 gp **
(437) DM: you are now in the main market
(437) DM: it is close to dusk
(437) DM: about 3 hours of daylight left
(437) DM: most of teh shops are closing up
** (442) Jeremiah leaves 2 GP **
(437) DM: and most of teh pedlars have packed up for the day
(450) Fungia (enter): 22:05
(445) Kerrick: I don't know what to do
(445) Kerrick: I'm frustrated
(450) Fungia: ooc: this booting blows
(445) Kerrick: let's start forcing some answers
(442) Jeremiah: well....just follow teh shady folks
(437) DM: ooc: I'm not sure what teh server problems are today. But yes, they do blow
(448) Taura: I'm not sure how much I can help - I need to be careful
(445) Kerrick: I say we wait near the entrance for thieves to show up
(445) Kerrick: and ambush them
(442) Jeremiah: it's something you develop and a guard.
(442) Jeremiah: you can start to pick out who's up to something
(450) Fungia: ooc: I'm missing half the dialog
(437) DM: you also realize... you are quite hungry
(442) Jeremiah: and you know, a good place to find lots of people to look at, is in an Inn!
(442) Jeremiah: we can stare at folks while we eat!
(445) Kerrick: fine, let's go
(437) DM: there are two inns you are still welcome at
(437) DM: the Brothel, which is right here at the market square
(437) DM: and the Boar's head, down main ave
(442) Jeremiah: which is larger?
** (448) Taura preoccupied with walking, does not seem to care **
(437) DM: the Brothel is 3 stories high, and good sized... probably a 100-person common room
(437) DM: the boars head is smaller, and nicer, and doesn't have whores
(437) DM: different sort of crowd goes there
(450) Fungia: Disconnecting from server...
(450) Fungia (exit): 22:09
(445) Kerrick: let's go here
(445) Kerrick: ooc: man.. sucks for Mark
(442) Jeremiah: Boar's head
(448) Taura: ooc yup
** (448) Taura follows **
(437) DM: you go to the boars head, and get looked up and down by a guard at teh door
(437) Guard: No weapons
(445) Kerrick: fine with me
(437) Guard: nothing longer than a dagger inside
(451) Fungia (enter): 22:10
(437) Guard: the rest...
(442) Jeremiah: where would we put them where they would be safe in this town?
** (445) Kerrick enters **
** (437) Guard guestures to a set of boxes off to one side **
** (445) Kerrick pokes his head back out the door **
(437) Guard: a boy sits over them, keepign a close eye on the weapons
(445) Kerrick: you guys coming or what?
** (442) Jeremiah looks doubtful **
** (448) Taura looks doubkful too **
(442) Jeremiah: we need a larger box
(451) Fungia: ooc: Am I here?
(437) Guard: the boy will watch them for a copper. He'll make sure you get them back for a handfull of them
(437) Guard: you're all here
(445) Kerrick: ooc: fungia, yes
(442) Jeremiah: look, Sir....
(437) Guard: do you check your weapons, or move on?
(442) Jeremiah: It's a real pain to get rid of ALL of these things
** (445) Kerrick steps back outside **
** (442) Jeremiah starts to take off some weapons **
** (445) Kerrick inconspicuously casts charm person o the guard **
(442) Jeremiah: Let's see what this place has to offer
** (448) Taura reluctantly removes his waeapons **
(437) Guard: [1d20+1] -> [6,1] = (7)
(437) Guard: he doesn't save
(445) Kerrick: ooc :w00t
(437) Guard: he smiles, and says "okay, just the big ones"
(437) Guard: Taura checks his bow, and sword, and club
(445) Kerrick: hehe, you know I bet you could have a lot of fun with an extra gold piece inyour pocket, too
(437) Guard: but the others manage to get in with their smaller, 1-handed weapons
** (442) Jeremiah checks in one long sword from hs back and the mace **
(437) Guard: you move into the inn
(437) Guard: it is a nice place
(437) Guard: well kept, large
(445) Kerrick: ooc: or not :)
(442) Jeremiah: Nice. I dont' know what you did, Kerrick, but it worked
(442) Jeremiah: anybody have weapons
(442) Jeremiah: ?
(451) Fungia: "Fully armed"
(437) Guard: with tables covered in nice cloths covering the tables
(437) Guard: everyone inside is well dressed, clean, and looks well bred
(445) Kerrick: it was my pleasure...
(445) Kerrick: have I mentioned I hate this town?
(437) Guard: the chairs are even uphostered, and may have cushions on them
(437) Guard: a lady in a blue dress comes up to you
(445) Kerrick: let's find a corner table
(437) Lady Sansa: my my my
(437) Lady Sansa: You gentlemen are filthy!
(437) Lady Sansa: perhaps you would care for baths before you dine?
(442) Jeremiah: My apologies, my lady. a bath would be wonderful!
(437) Lady Sansa: ARYA! ARYA
(442) Jeremiah: but perhaps....a roll before the bath?
** (451) Fungia wonders to himself if Lady Sansa will join him for a bath **
(437) Lady Sansa: a younger woman, about 16, comes out
(437) Lady Sansa: this is my sister, Arya.... she willl attend to your needs
(437) Lady Sansa: perhaps also your clothes.... a bit of laundering would not hurt
(451) Fungia: ooc: now you are talking
** (437) Arya leads you off, into a stone cellar basement **
(445) Kerrick: no thank you. I will launder my clothes myself, thank you
(437) Arya: there, she leads you to the bath chamber, which is one large pool, about 10 by 8, 3 feet deep, and filled with mostly clean water
(442) Jeremiah: do you have room to rent here, Arya?
(448) Taura: A room would be great
(437) Arya: "Soaps over there. Towels will be brought. When you're in, I'll take your clothes and beat teh dust out of them"
(437) Arya: "rooms will come. Clean yourselves up first. You stink like rats"
** (445) Kerrick keeps his robes within easy reach **
(442) Jeremiah: perhaps you could help me wash my back, Arya?
(437) Arya: whe watches you change, keeping careful watch on the elf and halfling
(437) Arya: she also ignores your advances, clearly used to them
(437) Arya: and takes all yoru clothes, even dirty little kerrick's and starts working them over in the corner
(437) Arya: by the time you are done with your cold soak and scrub, you feel about 100 times better
(437) Arya: your clothes, while not really cleaner, do look better, and you think she perfurmed them a bit
(437) Arya: or at least rubbed them with soap
(437) Arya: "This way"
** (445) Kerrick checks all his pockets **
(437) Arya: back upstairs, and into the main room, you get a private booth along one wall, away from the street and windows
(437) Arya: "all your stuff is there, but it's customary to tip"
** (437) Arya is rather disinterested in this work.... much less eloquent than Sansa was **
(445) Kerrick: you don't miss much, Arya
(437) Arya: you get your seats, and settle in with some mugs, while a waiter comes and asks if you would like stew or a haunch?
(437) Arya: The stew is 3sp, the haunch 6
(445) Kerrick: stew, please
** (445) Kerrick gives 4sp **
** (442) Jeremiah tosses a GP to Arya **
(448) Taura: haunch please
(437) Arya: he takes your orders, and returns in minutes with the food.
** (448) Taura also gives 1 gp **
(451) Fungia: stew please
(442) Jeremiah: ooc are we unarmed now?
(437) Arya: the meal is excellent... the best food you've had in a month
(437) Arya: you have one sword with you
(437) Arya: Fungia has everything
(437) Arya: Tuara has just a dagger
(437) Arya: kerrick has everything
(437) DM: are you doing anything special?
(442) Jeremiah: eating
(445) Kerrick: scoping out the patrons
(437) DM: you eat, and it's good
(448) Taura: eating
(442) Jeremiah: looking for interesting folk
(437) DM: the patrons are rich, that is as clear as can be
(451) Fungia: Disconnecting from server...
(451) Fungia (exit): 22:24
(437) DM: they have clean clothes, soft hands, and high collars
(442) Jeremiah: rich folk are the hardest to read
(437) DM: many are attended by maidens young enough to be their daughters, but not acting like it
(452) Fungia (enter): 22:25
(437) DM: that is at the tables and soft couches in the center of the rom
(437) DM: the other booths are men much like yourselves
(437) DM: they look like travellers, merchants, some soldiers perhaps
(437) DM: all in booths, eating and drinking quietly, or listening to the minstrel work his lute
(437) DM: anything else?
(437) DM: we can do any theif market stuff by email
(437) DM: or you can go to bed?
(445) Kerrick: yeah
(445) Kerrick: I say "endrin" loud enough for eople to hear
(445) Kerrick: then look for responses out of the corner of my eye
(437) DM: No response
(445) Kerrick: if people keep looking, we force some answers
(445) Kerrick: ohwell
(442) Jeremiah: let's not cause trouble in here, too
(437) DM: other than one man at a nearby table who looks at you with disdain for talking so loudly, and says so to his companions
(442) Jeremiah: I'd like a place to sleep eventually
** (448) Taura could use some sleep **
(442) Jeremiah: ooc gotta run
(437) DM: Okay.... end of session
(437) DM: ********************************88
(442) Jeremiah: neat-o
