Sir Euqine and His angel

The Knight's Rescue

He had all any young man could want, a beautiful home in a city of castles built by Kings,
warm clothing to keep Him warm, gleaming, sharpened swords for fighting,
armor to protect His strong body, plenty of food and drink to satisfy His hunger and thirst,
wealth and respect, and many horses to take Him where He needed to go,
yet the one thing He wanted, He did not have, a beautiul, vibrant woman to call His own.
because of His many accomplishments and fearless fights against man and beast, He was called Euqine by His fellow man.
He was well known in the land of Loxsley and well liked by women and men alike.
He was called upon whenever there was a problem, whether it be in Loxsley or another land.
He was a Knight with great demeanor, yet felt so alone, although surrounded by family and friends.

it was a warm, spring day when He rode into town.
upon arriving, He come to meet a good friend, who told Him of troubled times in a city called Nellbar.
He listened as His friend and brother Knight told Him of the deception and senseless blood shed
and the rapings of innocent women, all in the name of power.
He knew He had to help, He must ride to this Nellbar and do all He could to free the land and people
from it's despair and anquish.
He told His friend to carry word to the Knighthood and to have them all meet Him just outside the city of Nellbar.

He rode home, gathered His best sword and His armor and jumped atop His strongest steed.
a cole black stallion, named Lightning, because of his exceptional speed and strength.
He headed for Nellbar, full aware of what He would face upon arriving.
He feared no man, no beast, not even death and He had looked it in the face many times.
He was a strong willed man, determined and galliant. He lived by the sword and He would die by it if necessary.

the ride to Nellbar was a rough one, through mountains and baren desserts.
He arrived outside it just after night fall. there as He had requested was an army of His brother Knights.
He told them of His plan, to take Nellbar at night, as the town slept.
They would ride to His friend Patrick's home to get the information needed to find the evil doers of the city.
with that, They followed Euqine into Nellbar.

Patrick welcomed his friend with food and wine.
They spoke of the evil in Nellbar and Patrick told Him of a small cottage in the outskirts of town
where women were taken only to be sold to the highest bidder for sex.
he told Euqine how these women were taken from their homes, the families butchered when trying to protect their daughters.
Euqine thanked Patrick for his help and returned to the Knighthood.
He told them of what Patrick had told Him and they rode off in the night to the cottage.

upon arriving they lit their lanterns and shined them upon the cottage.
the first thing Euqine noticed was the windows were all boarded up.
across the door, a long, thick piece of steel, locked tightly into the clasp that held it.
not much in keeping the outside from getting in
but definately enough to keep the women from getting out.
He also noticed there was not a soul around guarding the place, it all appeared too easy.
They had told no one of their coming here this night, so He did not believe it to be a set up.
He dismounted and walked up to the door. He lifted the bar from the clasp that held it.
He opened the door and heard the pleas and the cries of the women trapped inside.
He motioned for several of His men to come. They shined their lanterns inside.
The stench from inside escaped through the opened door and before them
they saw about 20 young women huddled together at the far end of the room.
the cabin consisted of 1 room, no furniture, no light. all the women were without clothing and most looked frail and weak.
They entered the room, approaching the women.

the women huddled closer together, crying and unsure who they were and what their attentions were.
Euqine spoke saying,"We are not here to harm you, but to help you."
He told His men to bring blankets from the backpacks. They wrapped the women in them and led them one by one outside.
He told some of the men to return to Loxsley with the women and to return once the women were safe.
He then told the other's to follow Him.

by the light of the moon they burned the homes of the evil doers to the ground.
They fought long and hard and much blood was spilled that night.
They did not rest until every evil doer was lying on the ground in his own blood.
They had saved the land of Nellbar.
it was then they rested.

upon awakening, Euqine told His men to return home. He would join them in a day's time.
He wanted to visit awhile with Patrick before the journey back to Loxsley.
His men nodded and mounted their horses, leaving Euqine to continue on alone.

it wasn't a long ride back to Patrick's home but He found a small stream in a meadow and
decided to stop and allow Lightning to drink.
as the horse drank, He sat atop a log thinking of the events of the past day.
it was then that He heard the screams of a maiden in distress.
He mounted His horse in a flash and headed toward her screams for help.
in the distance He could see her lying in the middle of the road, looking up toward the hill over head.
He galloped toward her and saw approaching her a man on a horse, sword drawn.
He dug His heels into Lightning and galloped full speed ahead.
as He came up beside her, He leaned over, and with one sweep, swooped the girl up onto His horse with Him.
They rode some distance before He slowed His horse.
up ahead He saw a grassy field and He pulled the reins for His horse to stop.
He stepped down and held His arms up to the girl. she slid down into them, looking at the stranger who had just rescued her.
He took her hand and led her to a spot under a tree, where they sat down.
He asked her name and she replied, "Angel." He replied, "A very beautiful name little one."
He smiled and said, "They call me Euqine. Where are you from Angel?
the girl smiled and told Him she was from Nellbar but had no place she really called home.
she went on to tell Him of the anquish she had been through and how she had escaped from the burly man that held her captive.
He told her how He and the others had saved the village of Nellbar and that she, as well as the others were now safe.
He asked where He could take her.
she shook her head, shrugged her shoulders and replied that she did not know.
He decided she would go to Patrick's with Him, so they mounted His stallion and off they rode to Patrick's home.

once inside Patrick's home, Euqine asked if the girl Angel could bathe.
Patrick nodded and offered her some of his wife's clothing since they were about the same size.
the two men talked over coffee as she bathed in a stream just outside the home.
Patrick asked about the girl, who was she, where did she come from and why was she with Euqine?
Euqine explained His encounter with her and what she had told Him.
He then said, "I need to find a safe place for the girl. She has no home.
Patrick answered, "She may stay here with us Euqine, we will take good care of her."
it was then that the girl came back inside.
Euqine looked at her, and He could not believe what His eyes were seeing.
no longer was there the girl with the dirt upon her skin, the tangled, knotted, unkept hair and tattered rags she wore for clothing.
before Him stood a beautiful woman, hair as bright as the afternoon sun, falling softly against her shoulders,
her eyes as blue as a crystal clear stream, untouched by man or beast.
Her skin so soft and milky white, her smile as beautiful as the most beautiful sunset.
He looked upon her with wonderment and said, "The girl will go to Loxsley this day, with Me."

Patrick gave to them a white horse for the girl and together They left Nellbar heading to Loxsley
Angel watched the stranger called Euqine with great interest and amazement. could He be Him, her Knight?
He had rescued her, He had the black horse and she had seen the armor and His sword.
His eyes were of the man she had seen countless times in her dreams of Him. everything about Him seemed so familiar.
They stopped to rest the horses and talk some more.
He told her of His home in Loxsley and that she would stay with Him until other arrangements could be made.
as night fell, They arrived at His home.
Angel gasped aloud as her eyes fell upon His home.
there before her was the castle she had seen so many times in her dreams.
He helped her down from her horse. she stepped into His arms and Their eyes locked.
He cupped her face in His hands and leaned forward, kissing her.

in the distance she heard the voice of her Mother..."beautiful dreamer"...
her dream had come true, her Knight was here with her.
He had found her and taken her to His world and here They would live happily ever after.
