Saturated with this fervency, my work covers any particular subject, place, or emotion that is of pure reflection to myself. As I dip my hands into the well of my subconscious, I pull forth the essence of my soul, creating artwork that is unique, vivid and bold, yet remaining delicate and mysterious at the same time. In order to produce this desired effect I must carefully choose each medium, technique, and color scheme, whether it be thick swooping layers of acrylic paint, soft blending streaks of pastel, or finely shaded and detailed drawings in graphite.
My current work has led me to the discovery of emotion in the human form alone. Capsulated with lines of dark curvature, which suspend them away from their colored frames, these provacatively faceless figures seem to take on a life of their own. As I manifest them I am listening quietly as well, for it appears as though they are about to dance forward from the mouths of their open cages to whisper some secret or long forgotten messege.
My goal in this work and as an artist is not only to reveal who I am, nor to simply build a connection with the viewer, but to do so in such a way that one is gifted with such a deep sense of emotion, they cannot help exploring the variety of energies found to be surging through them!
