Geographical Map of Solaris

People of Solaris

Quendi (Elves)

Overall Groups
Eldar
The Eldar is the name given to the Elves who embarked on the Great Journey from their homeland of Cuiviėnen and came to Solaris.

Avari
The Avari disobeyed the orders of their Gods, the Valar, and remained in Cuiviėnen, believing they would only find salvation there.

Major Groups
Calaquendi
The Calaquendi “Elves of Light” known by Men as High Elves are the elves that left their homeland and settled in Aman.

Úmanyar
The Úmanyar were the elves known as “Not of Aman”. They embarked on the Great Journey but for one reason or another they did not make it to Aman.

Minor Groups
Vanyar
The Vanyar are that of the Eldar and once reaching Solaris they journeyed north to the lands of Aman. Gifted in song and music the Vanyar are a peaceful people and rarely are involved in war and strife.

Noldor
The Noldor are that of the Eldar, and they too traveled north to Aman. They did not go as far as the Vanyar though, and settled in the greener more lush lands of Aman. They are famed for their knowledge in magical arts as well as the making of very cherished weapons and armor.

Teleri
The Teleri are that of the Eldar. The Teleri were split into three different groups during the Great Journey. One group traveled to Aman with the other Eldar to live in peace and happiness. The second group remained in the south in the lands of Beleriand. They established the huge port city of Alqualatante and became the only culture in Solaris to have a fleet. The third group split from the others in the middle of the Great Journey and settled near the central mountain ranges of Solaris.

Sindar
The Sindar “Grey-Elves” were one of the first elven clans to produce weapons and armor, and are known as the most powerful melee fighters of all the elves. Opting rather to be isolated and be left alone, the borders of Sindarenta are well protected and none pass without the permission of the King.

Nandor
The Nandor Clan are wanderers. They were sundered from their Teleri bretheren and chose to wander the plains of central Solaris rather than settle in a permanent location.

Laiquendi
The Laiquendi or “Green Elves” settled in the area known as Ossiriand. Their supreme skill with the bow is of legendary proportion and they usually make their homes in the thickest and darkest forests of Solaris.

Moriquendi
The Moriquendi “Elves of the Darkness” are the outcasts and in most cases enemies of the other elves. They refused to leave their home of Cuiviénen. The Eldar gave them the name Moriquendi because they never saw the “Light of the Trees”, two sacred trees in the heart of Aman that constantly shine and produce a warm light for miles. Because of the Moriquendi secluding themselves in the dark lands of Cuiviénen, their skin has become a dark grey and they lothe the Eldar who live in happiness and bliss on the continent of Solaris.

Men

Overall Groups

Númenoreans
Númenoreans are not originally from the lands of Solaris. Their home country was destroyed by Orcs and other fell beasts across the western sea, and they arrived a few thousand years ago on ships that were destroyed and the art of making them lost. They formed two kingdoms in Solaris, Arnor in the north and Edaindor in the south. During the Great War, Arnor was laid to waste by millions of Orcs and Edaindor was greatly weakened. After the war the only trace of the ancient Númenoreans lies in the lands of Edaindor.

Eórlingas
The Eórlingas are the ancestors of the horse-lords of Rochand. Their hair was always a bright golden hue, and their natural skill in riding a horse is astounding. They are named after the first of their kind, Eórl the Young. Never living in extremely large cities like that of the Númenoreans, they live in many sparsely populated villages and form their own armies and garrisons, only gathering together when their King calls them forth. These are the original inhabitants of Solaris, although their cultural influence on the land has been overshadowed by the Númenoreans.

Anfauglir
These people are nomadic tribes from the desert lands in southern Solaris. Primitive but fierce and fanatical, people that descend from the Anfauglir are feared in the northern kingdoms, for their savagery and fervor in what their Gods tell them cannot be stayed, not even by death.

Major Groups
Edaindor
Edaindor is the most powerful and prominent kingdom in Solaris amongst the kingdoms of Men. Their ancestory in Númenor is strong and it is seen in everything they do from their buildings to their weapons and armor. Edaindor is famous for its nearly undefeatable infantry and pride themselves in the quality of their longbows in which only the elves can rival it’s range and accuracy.

Rochand
Rochand is the land of the horse-lords just north of Edaindor. Being allies with them for many thousands of years, Rochand has become highly skilled in the forging of high quality weapons thanks to their Edaindorian friends. On the other hand, Rochand supplies Edaindor with their horses for their small but skilled cavalry and train them to ride.

Khilasa
Khilasa is a large desert nation south of Edaindor. For many centuries Khilasa warriors have been making raids into Edaindor and have weakened them greatly. The Khilasa are primitive and their lack of natural resources causes them to make their weapons and armor out of sharpened stone, bone and animal hides.

Kházad (Dwarves)

Overall Groups
Tumunzahar
These dwarves are of the ancient race of their kind. Their skill in building and mining is unmatched and their love for jewels even greater. They come from the Iron Mountains which border the elven kingdom of Vanyamar. When the elves and dwarves first made contact, they were friends and shared many things with each other. But after a dreadful misunderstanding, the elves attacked the dwarves, lessening their kingdom and causing strife between the two races for many millennia.

Gabilgathol
These dwarves come from the mountains of Ered Luin that stretch from southern Aman and stop at the northern reaches of Rochand in which the Emid Muril go westward until clashing with the Bay of Falas. They are a younger race than the Tumunzahar, but their fame is nonetheless.

Major Groups
Gliran'Larin
This ancient kingdom of the dwarves was able to withstand the attacks of the Vanyar elves, and finally drove them back. Their mountain cities are very large and very rich and the only outsiders who view their great halls are the few and lucky friends of the King Under The Mountain.

Dwennendelf
This nation stretches far and wide through the Ered Luin. Their southern kingdom has recently fallen to a horde of orcs, and many thousands of their people were slain in the war that has lasted for many years.

Orcs

Overall Groups
Goblins
Goblins are small and insect like creatures. They are half the size of the average man and they are not very smart. Goblins are usually found in shallow caves or in abandoned mines.

Orcs
Orcs are larger creatures, about the same size as a man. They are a bit smarter than their smaller cousins and forge better weapons and armor. The Orcs tend to capture goblins and make them their slaves or “snaga”.

Uruk-Hai
The Uruk-hai is the pinnacle of the Orcish bloodline. Taller and hardier than a Man, the Uruk-hai is also extremely smart and take positions as commanders of Orcs and Goblins. The Uruk-hai also have a unique trait in which their goblin and orc brethren do not. The Uruk-hai can travel by daylight and not feel the negative effects as do the other orcs.

Trolls
Trolls are huge monstrosities that dwell in the dark and damp laces of the earth. Cave Trolls must remain inside caves for sunlight will turn them to stone. Mountain Trolls on the other hand can operate in daylight, though not as well as at night. Trolls are fearsome enough that it has been told even the presence of a few dozen on a battlefield is enough to turn the tide for the Orc army, even if they are being routed.

Major Groups
Gorgoroth
The orcs of Gorgoroth have long troubled the dwarves of Dwennedelf and every now and then run large raids into the farmlands of Rochand. These orcs have unique weapons and armor that all resemble that of flames. Their insignia is that of a ring of flame engulfing a skull.

Gidash
Gidash orcs are the most common and most troublesome for the kingdom of Edaindor. Every few hundred years they surge forward with a force of many hundreds of thousands and cause great suffering to all who stand in their way. The lands of Gidash are poisoned and desolate, allowing an easy natural defense for the orcs, for any invaders would have to bring their own supplies to last the war, instead of taking them from the orcs.

Hobbits (Halflings)

Roirry
Roirry is a peaceful land, and the envy of many nations. Never suffering through war or natural crisis, the land is green and fertile and its inhabitants the happiest in the land. Roirry keeps a small but well trained military, for their need in warfare has never come to pass.
