Peripherals

Peripherals are hardware items that can be either input or output devices. Input devices are those who insert information to the computer, for example a scanner, keyboard, mouse, and CDs. The output devices are the ones that bring out information from the computer. Some examples of these peripherals are monitors, printers, and CDs. As you noticed, CDs are under input and output devices. This is because CDs and Floppy disks (or any removable drives) are considered output and input since they can insert information or take information on the computer.
