This discussions page was created so that surfers can post online their comments or thoughts on cetain stuff. Remember, it doesn't have to be on computers, it just has to do something with technology. You can post your "essays" here or you can just leave a message on the message boards. I will be adding your comments and thoughts to this page daily, and I will update it with information daily (hopefully).

This is the first article of the gamers eye, and it came up as James and I were having a discussion about video games which I would obviously win. He said XBOX was the best out of the three new consoles (Gamecube, PS2 and XBOX) and I replied that PS2 was better. This article explains my point. I believe that a large percentage of all gamers judges a console not only by its stats such as graphical chip sets, CPU’s processors etc.
In my perspective, all three consoles have achieved the same level of perfection. By perfection, I mean all of the polygons are well rendered and textured, mobility is excellent, there are barely to no graphical glitches, games have great resolution, the FMV sequences are well designed and many other aspects are perfect, unlike former console games such as Final Fantasy VII or Hard Edge (which is one of the worlds worst games ever, even worse than Speed Racer, which was thought to have set a new low in the gaming industry). If there was a meter that measured quality, all three consoles rose above the perfection level and each then went a little over perfection. As long as the consoles have reached the perfection level, that large percentage of all gamers don’t care about enhancements and greater stats.
That percentage then, looks at the games. They judge (of course) graphics, mobility and all those aspects of the game, but they mostly think about the part of the game that isn’t technical. This “none technical” section includes storyline, character background, information provided, text fields etc. All that adds up to make the games story and ideas as a whole. Take Final Fantasy VIII for example. It was a revolutionary game in the gaming industry due to its graphic resonance, using all new Discreet tech and techniques. The FMV’s were almost real, mobility was excellent and random battles were well designed and placed. But the storyline was very disorganized. Take this from me (person who has beaten the daylights out of all the Final Fantasy games). First, your character was a student in Balamb Garden, and then became a SeeD mercenary to assassinate a sorceress. Then, your character engages on this mission to save the world from darkness the quite evil sorceress, Ultimecia, rosen by sorceress Adel. It all happens out of legends and without explanations. Thats why FF VIII is one of the worst FF in the series. But then theres Final Fantasy VII, the best game in the FF series. It has an awesome story that would make anyone cry, laugh and even speak to him/herself (except for me. I lost all feelings when I accidentally sat in an oven at the age of 6). But the graphic side of the game wasn’t at its best. The characters look like little cheese squares in toothpicks. I also saw many graphical glitches. Despite all this, it is one of the greatest games ever.
So my point is that PS2, Gamecube and XBOX are all excellent platforms, but from my quite humble perspective, PS2 is a lot better. All of the games that have come out are great except for some (in the “non technical” section) but all 3 consoles have had their lows too. The best game out of the three consoles is MGS2 for PS2 and the best RPG is FFX also for PS2. The best sports game so far is THPS 3 (and 4 will be next) and it has come out for all three consoles (that includes PS2, don’t forget) and the best car/racing game has been GTA3 for PS2. Gamers judge the games themselves more than anything, and that is why I believe PS2 is the best.
