As expected, Argentina controlled the match but didn't win by the scoreline that people would have thought.
Nigeria fended off their competition well in the first half as they went into the half time break on level terms.
However, after half time, Argentina started to control the game and looked likely to score and they did just that as they made the breakthrough in the 63rd minute when Gabriel Batistuta fired past the helpless nigerian keeper, Shorunmu. Nigeria surged forward throughout the second half making sure that Argentina knew why  they qualified for the finals. Unfortunately, nigeria couldnt find a through the defence and finished on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline.
