Hi-Fi Minidisc Recorders
. Sony 9?? series MD
deck, with front PS/2 keyboard for name editing, latest ATRAC DAC. About £300-
look around for £200 bargains. Sony invented Minidisc. Because of the small
amount of data (120MB) on a minidisc, the compression ratio (ATRAC) reduces
the audio quality compared to a CD version. They are a replacement for tape.
About bloody time! I believe MD is much more useful than MP3. Check with the
digital inputs/outputs of the MD deck you're gonna buy, and your source. Cheaper
CD players don't have digital out. Also make sure your MD check has the same
type as your CD player (coaxial or optical) With digital output you can bypass
the internal DAC's and connect to a higher quality DAC- like the Tag DAC20,
etc.
