Loudspeaker outputs
You connect your speaker cable to this, matching phase (red/black) with your
speakers (red/black). There are the following types of loudspeaker outputs...
- Spring-clip terminals. The cheapest type. They cannot accept thick wire.
- Metal screw-down terminals. My favorite. High quality, and bare wire will
not work itself loose.
- Plastic screw-down terminals with 4 mm banana plug hole in the middle (usually
on speakers). Do not use bare wire, as plastic on metal does not grip. Slowly
the cable will come loose. Use tight-fitting Banana plugs
- RCA's (usually on PC speakers). Not ideal, as +/- are on the same single
cable.
- Camcon/BFA's- either take 25mm spades, bare wire, or plastic-sheaved Camcon
plugs, ie on Arcam poweramps
