Midlands German Shepherd Dog club was granted stage 1 club affiliation by the GSD Federation of SA in February 2001, the club was formed to cater for the GSD enthusiasts in the Midlands/Pietermaritzburg district who did not have a specialist Club to provide training or have a voice in the future of the German Shepherd Dog. It soon became apparent that there was a big demand for Competition obedience and Working trials training as well, and as Midlands are fortunate enough to have some very experienced trainers in a variety of disciplines, it was decided to provide training in the afore mentioned disciplines as well as GSD Ringcraft, Schutzhund, BH, and Breed surveys, this training also covers IPO and ITT as they are of similar nature. Currently we are involved in Fund raising to assist one of our members Wade Armand and his dog 'Vasco' in getting to the WUSV World Championships, as he has been selected to represent South Africa.
