The Keris: Dedication

The keris had always been the object of admiration among the Malay peoples. It was once said that if a man did not wear his keris, he was as if naked.

In the publishing of this site, first of all I would like to thank my wonderful, loving wife for her enduring support and enthusiasm in helping me cope with the rigours of this daunting task. I love you, Maiza...

I would also like to thank my parents for their continous encouragements and comments.

A special "terima kasih" to Mr. Paul De Souza, colleague and fellow collector, who provided me with much information on the keris.

To Mr. Zolkurnain Hassan, Director of the USM Museum and Gallery for his knowledge and opinions concerning the keris, not to mention certain important contacts that made this site a possibility.

To Mr. Zulkifli Hashim, Asst. Curator of the USM Museum and Gellery for his co-operation in my research.

To Mr. Badrul Hisham Ab Rahman, Asst. Curator of the Perak State Museum for giving me permission to study the museum's keris collection.

To Miera, Zu, Aishah, Najla, Umi, Bai and Shud, my students. You gave me the spirit to go on.

To Kak Liney... may this site bring us closer to our hopes and dreams

To Kak Su... I wish you all the best in life... Thank you

To Uda and Achik... this is in part your triumph

And to all those who contributed in my research and the publishing of this site, TERIMA KASIH.
