Krupp's earth mover is the most massive machine I have ever seen. At least one that has a single, very specific use. I can't imagine this thing is economical for any job. Just getting it to the site has to cost millions (witness the compacted earth they have to place over the roadway to provide a path with minimal grade and also so the roadway does not get squished). Crazy Germans. Here are more stats:
311 feet tall
Cost over $100 million to build
5 years in design
5 years to construct
Requires 5 operators
Bucket wheel has 70 foot diameter
Buckets are 12' x 8' high x 46' long
I want one.
