Doug Taylor, FSA, FCIA, Actuary and Managing Director

 

Doug has worked in the actuarial field since 1979.

He began his career with various life insurance companies in Canada and the United States.

In 1989, Doug joined the Halifax office of a large international consulting firm as a consulting actuary.

In 1990, he became a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

In the summer of 1999, Doug founded a new actuarial services firm, Welton Beauchamp Atlantic Inc. (WBA), in partnership with Welton Beauchamp, Parent Inc. (now Welton Parent Inc.).

In the fall of 2002, WBA changed its operating name to Plenus Consultants.

During his consulting career, Doug has provided advice and given presentations to a broad range of clients, including:


Doug has been active within the actuarial profession, having served on

the Society of Actuaries' Examination and Education Committee

and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries' Task Force on Workers' Compensation and Task Force of the Member Services Council.

He is past-chair of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries' Committee on Workers' Compensation.
