Personality: Has a rebellious side, wants/wanted revenge for father's death, "likes to crack jokes and make life miserable for criminals with witty puns" (www.batbeyond.com)-in other words, has a sense of humor, his stupid one-liners...thank you for that, Arete... Really loyal to friends. Helps them when he can, often this conflicts with his duties as Batman and his morals and values, such as not wanting to be on the wrong side of the law again. Ever since becoming Batman, or maybe even before, he usually helps people when they're in trouble if he can do anything about it. Nice to girls (unless they're like Curare or Inque or some other enemy), can be sweet, protective of family and others he cares a lot about (i.e. friends, like Max, girlfriends--even to Dana, who was a bitch to him 'cause she thought he was a bad boyfriend). Has that belief in gentlemanly chivalry-and-relatively-polite-manner-around-the-fairer-sex thing going. Likes dogs, or at least Ace.
Weaknesses: Is pretty new at being Batman, gets beaten up a lot while fighting, though usually nothing too damaging since the suit protects him from that, needs Bruce Wayne's (the original Batman's) help. Usually doesn't look around enough to catch any surprises (part of the reason why he gets hurt so much).

Background/Origin: Was a punk (part of a gang, sometimes stayed away from school/ home for days). His parents were divorced. Terry lived with his father, and Matt lived with their mother. About this point in time, he, along with a friend, got caught stealing and served time in Juvie. Later, around the time when his father was killed or before then, he sort of straightened out: went to school regularly, broke off from the gang, obviously met Bruce Wayne and got a "job"..."When Derek Powers and Mr. Fixx murdered Terry's father, and Terry discovered plans for illegal biological weapons, he turned to the only man who could help him, Batman. When a bitter Bruce Wayne pushed Terry away, Terry responded by stealing the batsuit and proceeded to exact his own form of justice. Bruce tried to stop him, but Terry reasoned that the biological weapons were shipping that night, and it would be his last chance for vengeance against his father's killer. Having lost his parents in the same way, Wayne finally conceded and allowed Terry to stop Mr. Fixx and Powers. After Terry succeeded in stopping Powers and Mr. Fixx, Wayne deemed Terry worthy enough to become the next Batman. He was certainly inexperienced and young, but so were Wayne's other prodigies [proteges?]. Thus the mantle was handed down, and Terry McGinnis became the next Batman." -from www.batbeyond.com
