This Saturday marks the date that I get Xbox Live. After playing it all weekend, all I can say is it's the greatest thingsince sliced bread.

"XboX suX1!!1"

Ah, the cry of the fanboy.

One of the games I bought over the weekend was Capcom VS SNK2, or better known among us gamers as CVS2. The Xbox controller takes a lot of getting used to, but I'd rather buy the Joybox. It allows me to hook up my broken PS2 controller to my Xbox and play games using it. Of course I'd only use my PS2 controller for fighting games. Once I get it, you'll all be loosing to me. Prepare to loose, suckers!

As for the game itself, CVS2 is pretty much arcade perfect on Xbox, as it is on every system. The Easy Operation mode is just plain gay. Seriously, I swear if I loose to anyone using EO one more time, I'm going to personally hunt them down and kick their AC-hating ass.

There are some load times, though no loading screens. Just inbetween the matches a 3-6 second wait awaits you. It is a bit annoying, and online during those load scenes, you can't talk to your opponent. It just cuts out, which is even more annoying.

And finally, the game difficulty is horiibly unbalanced. I put the game on a 4/8 difficulty, and for the first three matches I owned. I usually got perfect or close to it, with only my first character. But on that fourth match, I couldn't even win for osmegay reason. My Xbox froze from me hitting my controller before I could even try for a sixth time. Thank you Microsoft. And thank you, Bill Gates.

I know it seems like i am ragging on CVS2, but it really is a good game. If you're a fighting game fan, get it. It's totally awsome online, and it's great practise offline.

I played DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball, and it's okay. I'm not going to go out and buy it, though. I still want to get Dark Cloud 2. I just don't have enough money right now.

Oh, and I've been keeping an eye on Def Jam Vendetta. Forget about the fact that I'm starting to like rap music (though don't call me a wigger yo', cause I 'aint), the fact that Aki (WWF Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy come to mind) is developing it is the sweetest part of the deal. Hey, I like the Smackdown engine and all, but we can't live on a diet of only Smackdown engines in our wrestling games (*cough, Wrestlemania X8, *cough).

Expect some more site changes. Little ones, but ones that'll make it all th emore better. I really want to keep this site going, and mabey use it in my portfolio that I don't yet have.

Dark Cloud 2
One game I've had my eye on for the last few weeks is Dark Cloud 2. Unfortunately, although the original intruiged me, I never had a chance to play it.

I beleive DC2 should be out by now. From what I've seen and from what I've read, DC2 follows the adventures of a young man named Maximillion. I beleive he finds more people to form a party with as well.

Max and friends travel through randomly generated dungeouns, something of which honestly doesn't bother me. I've never had a problem with randomly generated dungeons in any RPGs simply because, I usually don't pull any "Argh! I need a strategy guide" fits. The Georama system continues, and for those who don't know what that means, Georama involves the creation of towns, by you. In the dungeons, you collect treasures that give you a new home or store, etc. in the feild map. So, it's kind of like Soul Blazer (great game, by the way) for the SNES.

Graphically, the game sports a cool-looking cel-shaded look that, while not nearly as impressive as Zelda: Wind Waker, it gives DC2 a cool cardboard-cutout look. If anyone dares complain, I ask you, "Why?"

DC2 is probably the next game I'll get for my beloved PS2, but first my debts need to be paid (like that Gamecube I bought the other day - no trading necessary. I just pay fifty bucks a week until it's paid off). I cannot wait until I actually play the game, so mind my review for being based on other people's previews.

Okay, I can trade in my Xbox and get a Gamecube, with a free game. Thank you Nintendo, finally! But do I want to? My Xbox has been screwing up on me lately. Sometimes it wokrs, sometimes it doesn't. I mean, Metroid and Zelda: Wind Waker look damn good, but so does Panzer Dragoon Orta and DOA: Beach Volleyball. Still, I can get most Xbox games I want on PC anyways (at least as soon as I upgrade this damn peice of junk). Email me and let me know what I should choose: Xbox or Gamecube (oh you fanboys are gonna' love this).

Let me know
Thank you for not sending me any pRon.

09/02/02 My review of Super Mario Sunshine is up in the Games section. But we both know what kind of score it got, obviously.

08/27/02 I've added a new preview of Evolution Worlds. However, I'd like the character pics to be a larger size for you to see, as they are very cool. If you want to play these games (one and two) but don't want to wait, I'd reccomend them. They are currently available on the Dreamcast.

08/27/02 My first entry into my Super Mario Sunshine Adventures is up, entitled Arriving on Delphino Island. Check it out, and there's more where that came from, baby!
*Editor's Note: We apologize for GamerX using the word "Baby" and we promise that he'll not use that word again. No really, we swear.

08/25/02 GamerX now has a semi-new layout. I just cut down the length of the main page and will add to the month's archives every few days to make the page shorter and easier to read. To the naked eye, you won't notice anything. But trained eyes shall see all.

08/12/02 A new review is up! Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II has been out for a while, and I just finished reviewing it. But hey - it's worth a look - and so is my review!

08/12/02 I'm working on some changes to my site in order for it to be a bit more organized. They should be coming soon. Let me know what you think at my email address jango_128@hotmail.com. Soon I'll have a guestbook to make things easier.
