Friday, May 20, was an historic day for Ufology in Brazil and in the 
world
as the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), for the very first time in its 
history,
officially receives a committee of top UFO researchers to openly 
discuss
sightings in the country and fully exam classified UFO documents in 
several
military facilities in Brasilia, the Federal Capital.

By doing this very important step, Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has placed
Brazil in a very short list of countries whose militaries acknowledge 
the
Ufology as a serious activity and significant effort to fully 
understand
the nature and origin of UFOs. “We want to have all info on the 
subject,
that is withheld by us for some decades, fully released to public, 
through
the UFO community”, declared brigadier Telles Ribeiro, chief of 
Brazilian
Air Force Communication Center.

The Brazilian Government, through the Brazilian Air Force, has finally
decided to come forward and recognize the UFO research as a genuine 
activity
as a direct result of the intense pressure made by the campaign UFOs:
Freedom of Information Now, a movement started by the Brazilian UFO 
Magazine
in April 2004. The campaign was launched by the Brazilian Committee of 
UFO
Researchers (CBU), composed of 6 UFO civilian researchers: Claudeir 
Covo,
Marco Petit, Rafael Cury, Reginaldo de Athayde, Fernando Ramalho and A. 
J.
Gevaerd (Athayde was sick and replaced by new interim member veteran 
UFO
researcher Roberto Affonso Back)

The approach of the Brazilian military by the CBU committee started 
last
February, ten months after the campaign begun, with a phone call from a
Brazilian Air Force spokesman, major Antonio Lorenzo, and a formal
invitation to a visit and a chat in some Air Force headquarters in 
Brasilia.
Major Lorenzo fully recognized the UFO researchers’ efforts in this 
field
and provided a few details of what kind of reserved files and 
procedures the
Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has about the UFO Phenomena and its 
detection,
recording and investigation in the country.

Two meeting between the civilian UFO researchers and the military took 
place
last Friday, May 20, and firstly happened in the headquarters of the
Integrated Center of Air Defense and Air Traffic Control (Centro 
Integrado
de Defesa Aérea e Controle de Trafego Aéreo, Cindacta), a very 
sensitive
facility. During two hours, the researchers were given lectures of the
procedures conducted at Cindacta and had the chance to visit air 
traffic
control rooms and understand how UFOs could be detected by the Air 
Force
personnel.

The second and most important meeting took place just after this one at 
the
very reserved facilities of Brazilian Air Defense Command (Comando de 
Defesa
Aerea Brasileiro, Comdabra), an even more sensitive installation that
controls the entire air defense situation in the country and 
surrounding
areas of Atlantic Ocean and South America. In this facility the UFO
researchers were given full briefing of the top aspects of aerial 
defense of
the country.

It was in this facility that its own commander, brigadier Atheneu 
Azambuja,
admitted to the UFO researchers how concerned the Brazilian military 
are
about the UFO phenomena. Azambuja also gave details of Comdabra 
procedures
and openly admitted that the country has systematically detected and
registered UFOs in the country – labeled as “H Traffic” – since 1954. 
That
wasn’t a surprise for the UFO researchers of the Brazilian Committee of 
UFO
Researchers (CBU), but how this registering process took place was.

After detailed explanations of Comdabra activities, brigadier Atheneu
Azambuja, for the first time in history, gave full access to the 
civilian
UFO researchers to exam 3 different folders with classified UFO 
information,
cases from specific dates of 1954, 1977 and 1986. The first case was an
airplane pursuit of a UFO in the ocean shores of Paraná State.

The second file was much more important. In the folder containing the 
1977
docs that could be examined by the UFO researchers were dozens of cases 
of
UFOs in the Amazon with an amazing amount of over 100 pictures made 
during
the so-called Operation Saucer, an official program of UFO 
investigation by
the military that took place from September to December, 1977, and has 
been
fully covered by specialized UFO press over the world.

The third case was the “The Official Night of UFOs in Brazil”, a very
significant group of events that happened in May 1986, when 21 objects 
of
over 100 m in diameter jammed the Brazilian air traffic control system 
over Rio
de Janeiro, Sao Jose dos Campos and Sao Paulo, mainly, and several jets 
were
sent to intercept – without any success – the intruders.

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) representatives at those meetings then 
fully
admitted that Ufology is serious business and broadly recognized the
activity of UFO research by the civilian UFO community. And also 
guaranteed
that further steps are about to be taken to let the researchers to exam 
the
entire military UFO files in a more comprehensive way. Plus, a 
committee of
military and civilian UFO researchers was promised to start operating 
very
soon, coordinated by the Brazilian Committee of UFO Researchers (CBU).

This certainly means that we will start a new era in Ufology in Brazil 
and
in South America. Very good things are about to happen as the Brazilian 
Air
Force (FAB) command, the Brazilian Ministry of Defense and the 
Brazilian
president Luis Inacio Lula da Silva receive the open letters and formal
requests for opening for good the documents and start the mentioned
committee, as presented to them by their spokesman.

LTP: My guest today, Michael Horn, is the official American Media 
Representative for Billy Meier, a simple Swiss farmer who has been having 
contact with UFOs since the age of five, and Michael has been researching 
this case for nearly twenty-five years. He’s a musician, a songwriter 
and an inventor. He created “Nail Art,” he’s also the creator of the 
“Sit And Get Fit” video-fitness program, and for the last thirty years has 
all of that experience along with Yoga, Tai Chi, Chi Gong, and various 
massage. There really is no end to Michael’s talent, but today he’s 
here to discuss and share with us information about Billy Meier, and why 
he feels the case is a valid one. Michael, thank you for joining us 
today. This really is an outstanding case with Billy: sixty-two years of 
contact. How did you meet Billy? 
MH: Well, actually I met Billy four years ago for the first time. Even 
though I’ve been studying the case and all the information for many 
years before that - a little more than twenty actually - I went to 
Switzerland because there was a group of people that would come every year to 
meet from around the world, who were involved in studying the material. 
Though I had done all of my work independently, I had decided just 
prior to that, by perhaps half a year or so, to join a study group in LA 
that had a few people that were studying the material. And that way I 
could officially go and meet him as part of a little tiny American 
contingent, a very tiny one, three people. So I had the opportunity and I went 
and I just got back from my fourth year of visiting. 
LTP: So what made the case valid to you? And why was it that you felt 
you wanted to go out and research this? 
MH: Well, of course, when I saw the first photo book as a lot of people 
did in 1979, I had the feeling that this is real. Now you can look at 
something and say this is real or isn’t real, but you can’t make a 
conclusion that you can stand behind based simply on impressions from 
photographs one way or the other. But there was more to it than that. Even in 
the first photo-book, there was some of the investigative research done 
on the photography, on metal samples, and information quotes from the 
alleged extraterrestrials, and things that made sense to me. …

Statistics of Ufos Sightings reported on Radio

I collaborate in two radio programs in Puerto Rico. One of them will 
soon be simotainisly   transmitted over an internet network. Both shows 
are hear over two radio stations. Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. on 1130 A.M. 
and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. on 1170 A.M. These are the only radio programs  
in the southwest of the island dedicated to this subject. 

January - 8 sightings reported including a cigarette type of ship in 
the town of Yauco the 10 of January to 9;30 p.m. seen by a community of 
district. 

February - 4 sightings reported including two ships in sequence in the 
town of Lajas 

18 of February about 11:25 p.m. strange craft seen by a Melendez family 
of 5 members. 

March - 1 sighting reported by the Serrano family de Ponce while they 
were on their way to the airport. 

12 of March to the 2:30 a.m. saw an enormous orange light that signaled 
them. Later the light disappeared. 

April - 9 reported sightings by the family of Quintana and friends of 
Lajas.  Allegedly two lights of tipsy clear color settled on the mounts 
of the Bermeja Mountain range.  The lights were green which changed to 
a yellow color.  It was as if they were signaling to one another.   One 
of then is said to have broadcast q slight squeak to the other one.  
This happened again  and was related to us on the 15 of April to the 1:00 
a.m..

Reconsidering Pre-historic Culture Based on Giant Figures and Other 
Historical Sites Unearthed in Peru

CNN reported on March 3rd, 2005, that archaeologists had discovered a 
group of giant figures scraped into the hills of Peru's southern coastal 
desert. 
The report says that about 50 giant figures were etched into the earth 
over an area of roughly 90 square miles (233 square kilometres) near 
the city of Palpa. The drawings - which include human figures as well as 
animals such as birds, monkeys, and felines - are believed to have been 
created by members of the Paracas Culture sometime between 600 and 100 
B.C. 
The recently discovered designs predate the country's famous Nazca 
lines. 
The giant Nazca designs cover a 35-mile (56-kilometre) stretch of 
desert in Peru's Nazca Plain in South America. The lines, which form 
geometrical shapes, also include pictographs of various animals such as giant 
birds, whales and spiders. The giant Nazca designs were first 
discovered in 1939 and were added to the United Nations' Cultural Heritage list 
in 1994. 
What is so puzzling is that these designs are so gigantic that they can 
only be fully viewed from at least 300 meters above the ground. Even 
today, there are no reasonable explanations for their origin or purpose 
and or even how the lines were drawn. 
The even more mysterious thing about the Nazca Lines is that they are 
etched into the Nazca Plain, a barren plateau. In 1996, researchers 
found that the geologic fault zones of the underground water were very 
closely correlated to the figures etched into the earth.

Oldest 'steel' unearthed in Turkey

Two pieces of metal unearthed at colonial ruins in Turkey have been 
deemed the world's oldest examples of a crude type of steel, dating back 
to 1800 BCE. The discovery has been credited to Hideo Akanuma, senior 
curator at Iwate Prefectural Museum, who tested the pieces, which were 
excavated in 1994 at the Kaman-Kalehoyuk ruins, 100 kilometers southeast 
of Ankara. Both pieces measure between one and two centimeters long and 
about one centimeter wide and were excavated by archaeologists of the 
Middle Eastern Culture Center in Japan, who started digging at the ruins 
in 1986.

In his research, Akanuma magnified the metal pieces 1,000 times and 
found that their texture was similar to steel. Also, he found through 
fluoroscopic analysis that carbon accounted for 0.1 to 0.3 percent of the 
objects, which is a defining feature of steel.
Until now, crude steel fragments found in the same area dated between 
the 14th and 12th centuries BCE and were believed to be the oldest steel 
in the world. A clay tablet found in Bogaz Koy, the capital of Hittite 
Empire in the same period, had an inscription that 
read, "High-quality iron," which is believed to refer to steel.

Revisited

Long before my 1990s ‘zine, “The Hollow Earth Insider” (THEI) was 
available and long before the days of the Internet, way back in the 70s and 
80s there was only one major source of information pertaining to the 
Hollow Earth Theory.  That was the very popular and long running ‘zine of 
Mary Martin and Tal LaVesque, “The Hollow Hassle.”

Although their ‘zine has been out of print for many years, they are 
both still very interested in the subject.   Mary has just recently 
recuperated from a serious illness and one of the first things she did when 
she got back to her computer was fire off e-mail to me asking where the 
issues of “Unraveling the Secrets” she had missed were.  And as you 
know if you are a regular reader of this Research Report, just as with the 
old hard copy THEI magazine, ‘TAL’ is a major and important 
contributor.  (The ‘TAL’ Zone).

This is the first in a series of THEI FILES I will be including in 
these pages. Sort of” best of” information from the 8 filing cabinets of 
information I have accumulated over the 40 years of my personal research.   
To kick the series off, this column is made up of tidbits from my file 
containing information passed along in  “The Hollow Hassle” thirty 
years ago.  Hope you enjoy this almost-lost information.

The Best of “The Hollow Hassle”

In and Out of the Hollow Earth

The article about UFOs in Brazil (September 1971 Fate) leads me to say 
that I believe these mysterious vehicles do not come from outer space 
but from inner space.
   While doing some research on ancient maps at the American 
Geographical Society in New York City I found several unusual books listed in the 
card catalog:

“Symmes’ Theory of Concentric Spheres” by Americus Symmes (1878).
“The Phantom of the Poles” by William Reed (1906).
“A Journey to the Earth’s Interior” by Marshall B. Gardner (1913).

These books claim that the earth is hollow and that giant holes, each 
at least 1,200 miles in diameter, in the Arctic and Antarctic lead into 
the earth’s interior.  The authors purportedly based their ideas on 
reports of naval expeditions which were sent into the center of the earth 
in the last century.  It seems that ships could actually sail over the 
edges of these holes and into the earth’s interior.  One of these 
expeditions, financed by the United States government at the request of 
President grant in 1870, used the U.S. Polaris under the command of Capt. 
Charles Hall.  The books give details of the earth’s interior, including 
diagrams and they mention that “unknown civilizations” exist 1,000 
miles below the surface.
  
At first I was surprised by this material because I know that the 
American Geographical Society’s library contains no works of fiction.  I was 
even more surprised when I showed Photostats from these books to 
geology and geography professors and was told that the diagrams of the hollow 
earth were accurate.
 
Becoming more curious I checked the science room of the New York Public 
Library at 42nd St., a reference center which contains one of the 
largest collections of scientific books outside the Library of Congress.  In 
the card catalog I found the three books mentioned above plus a fourth:

“The Hollow Earth” by Raymond Bernard Ph.D. (1964).

   Bernard claimed that the flying saucers were coming from the earth’s 
interior through the holes in the Arctic and Antarctic.  Although this 
book may sound like science fiction it must be remembered that books of 
fiction are not filed in this reference room. …

ex-public library copy.  On the spine is the Dewey Decimal Number assigned to 
the book … 551.11 … these numbers put this book into the category of

Hopi Indian Legend:
A Journey from the Interior

   A long time ago the Hopis lived in the Underworld or in a Land 
Beneath the Surface of our Planet.  Life in that region was like life on the 
surface of the Earth and the HOPI People were very happy there.  But a 
time came when crops failed due to lack of rain and the People became 
unhappy.
  
 When they looked up to the “sky” they could see a great “HOLE” there 
to the land on the other side.  (Similar legends are told by almost all 
American Indian tribes).
  
 HOPIS have a concept of “Sky Gods”; Rituals and Ceremonials (for them) 
take place in the Underground … Kivas (the ancient and Sacred Temple of 
the HOPI People) … which symbolizes the INTERIOR world which was the 
land of the HOPIS before coming to the surface of our planet.  The 
Underworld/ Sky Spirits play an important, secret and unseen role in the life 
of the HOPI.

“We will continue to keep PEACE with all Men while patiently waiting 
for our ‘TRUE WHITE BROTHER’ whose duty it is to purify this land” … 

THE HOPIS ANCESTORS:
A journey from MALDEK

“A long time passed and there were Other Worlds and Other Peoples.  We 
are now living today as Descendants of People who were saved from the 
Other World, because there the ‘living stream’ changed from good to 
corruption.
  
“ There were good People and they asked … MASSAU … for permission to 
come live with him.  These peaceful people from the Earlier World were 
permitted to go live with MASSAU in the Interior of the Earth.   They 
became the first Hopis (Hopi means Peaceful).”
   
Ancestors of the present HOPIS originally came from the Destroyed 
Planet MALDEK (and its Moon, MALONA) … this planet and its single satellite 
are known as LUCIFER and LILITH in the Old Testament.  They were 
destroyed by Thermal Catastrope Hydrogen Destruction) LUCIFER/MALDEK are 
today known as the ASTEROID BELT between Mars and Jupiter.

HOPI PROPHESY

“We were warned long ago not to take part in the 3 great wars.  That 
there would be two forerunners of the “True White Brother” who will 
witness for him.  One messenger will carry a Swastika and the other a 
Sun-Disc. (And I will give power unto my two witnesses and they shall 
prophesy -- Revelation 11:3).
 
 “In the last days ‘Strange lights’ will be seen in the sky and they 
will be watching the HOPI People to see if they are following the LIFE 
PLAN … and these “Strange lightd’ will report to the “TRUE WHITE BROTHER”

THE POPUL VUH,
the sacred Book of the Quiches of America speaks of an infinitely 
Ancient Civilazation which knew about the nebulae and the whole Solar 
System.  Both the Aztecs and the Quiche Mayas had a tradition that they came 
from seven Wombs (caverns,) before migrating to their historical 
homelands in Mexico and Yucatan.

THE END OF THE WORLD

“The Earth shall turn on its axis, North to South, the Poles shall 
shift, when comes the great White Light of Purification.” … HOPI 
representative, Aug. 1966.

Are you preoccupied with the end of the world?  The nearest thing to a 
real “End of the World” got no publicity at all.  That was on October 
30, 1937, when an asteroid called Hermes missed crashing into the Earth 
by a mere half-million miles … or three seconds!

As time flows on, the Interior of the earth may be the only safe place 
to be during the sudden and unusual changes in the weather and climate.  
The nearness of the coming shift is known by many scientists.

DEROS KILLED IN NEVADA CAVE

Scores of red-haired mummies 6 ½ to 7 feet tall and thousands of 
artifacts have been discovered in a smoke-coated Cave 22 miles southwest of 
Lovelock, Nevada … the Piutes of Lovelock Indian colony called the 
redheads “People Eaters”. “That tribe of barbarians would waylay my people 
to kill and eat them, they would even eat their own dead.” says an 1883 
book by Sarah Winnomuca Hobkins called “Life Among the Piutes.”  The 
Piutes cornered them in a cave and wiped them out.

hey you hassler you: er I mean My Dear Mary,

About the hole at the pole … remember when Polaris made the trip under 
the ice and came up at the pole.  I saw the movies they made … and when 
they emerged at the pole the FOG was so thick you could not see more 
than six feet.  BUT the ice they broke thru coming up was only about 4 
inches thick and littered the deck in chunks …

Nobody comments on these two weird phenomenon, it seems meaningless to 
them … and no-one in the movie commentary mentioned it BUT just at what 
temperature does fog form … (just about 30 to 32 and up to forty as I 
recall … colder it disappears … warmer it disappears.)

That the ice they broke up through was so thin it wasn’t even safe to 
skate on is also evidence of a regular warmth at the pole …

So everything points to quite a hole in the pole and what’s more it’s a 
warm hole … covered by fog naturally due to the surrounding arctic cold 
contacting the warm air …

HOWEVER … the ancients made so many holes of their own in earth that 
the hole in the pole is just one more … and these ancient holes are 
cities with their own life support systems and their own special environment 
creating machinery … each different from the other … as in the tale of 
the Green World and green kids that turned up trying to find their way 
back thru the entrance and never did …

These special environment city holes are also true and also findable … 
BUT the entries, like Aladdin’s hole and Ali Baba’s cave need special 
“portal” knowledge to get thru.  Portals have mental traps to protect 
them … as you approach you have mental quirks … and to go IN you have to 
mentally WALK AWAY from it …if you followed your mind and tried to 
enter you would actually be walking away and there are other peculiarities 
like mirror reversal of all the minds directional sensories …left is

Mary Martin writes of Shaver’s death: 

“The day I got the letter from Dot [Richard Shaver’s wife] concerning 
Rich’s passing we lived in Hawthorne California. The envelope had Dot’s 
name on the return address, so I know what had happened before I even 
opened the letter (which I can’t find anywhere). “The incidents 
surrounding his death are very strange. Prior to his death, Rich had a contract 
to go to Hollywood and be an adviser on an inner earth/ cavern type of 
movie. He was very excited about it and even bought himself new false 
teeth for the occasion. Before leaving for Hollywood, he came down with 
a bowel obstruction, which would need surgery. Usually this is a very 
minor type surgery. Before leaving for the hospital he told Dot that he 
would not leave the hospital alive; that the Deros would not allow him 
to make this movie and he would die in the hospital. Dot assured him 
that it was only minor surgery, and that he would be just fine. She was 
right regarding the surgery it was successful. But when he was rec!
overing in the hospital he had 2 minor heart attacks. This was still 
not enough to kill him, but he died before leaving the hospital. 
Remembering Rich’s prophesy, Dot decided to have an autopsy performed on him. 
The results showed that he had cancer of the pancreas. I’m not that well 
versed on human anatomy but wouldn’t the doctors have seen that when 
they operated on him for the bowel obstruction? Also, the movie contract 
disappeared and Dot couldn’t remember the Studio’s name. Did Richard 
Shaver finally fall victim to the Deros that he had spent a major portion 
of his life trying to expose?

In May, 2004, the SGS Cave Unit undertook a trip to the northern 
reaches of the kingdom to determine whether there are any interesting caves 
in a vast lava field which spills over the Saudi border into Syria and 
Jordan. Susy and I were in the Azores when Mahmoud Al-Shanti, 
Abdulrahman Al-Jouid, Saeed Al-Amoudi, along with Awad Falleh, a caving 
enthusiast from Al Jawf, flew up to the lonely town of Gurayat. They figured 
they’d make their search a lot easier if they inquired about caves at the 
sprawling government wildlife preserve which encompasses 170 square kms 
of this area, but the director declared there were none at all. “Of 
course you are free to look,” he said...
...And off they drove, heading toward a spot where a friend of Awad’s 
claimed there was a cave. This turned out to be a major chore, taking 
them ten hours to drive 111 kms. The reason they averaged only 11 kms per 
hour was because “the place was full of hills and mountains; there were 
no tracks, much less roads, to be seen and we kept getting stuck in 
soft sand.” ..

How to Behave Around A Cave Reptilian, or… TRAPPED IN LA VENTA CAVE

Ever since I came to México, people have been telling me about caves in 
their area. Strange as it may seem, the descriptions are always 
remarkably similar, although the caves, if we find any at all, may be 
completely unalike.

This cave starts at a little hole over there by a Guamúchil tree and 
goes straight through the whole mountain ...¡SÍ, Señor! It comes right 
out the other side. But no one has ever gone all the way because as soon 
as you get 100 meters inside, your light is mysteriously blown out, 
even if it’s a flashlight! That’s what has stopped us from reaching the 
treasure ... and then there are the snakes ... no, you’d better not go in 
that hole!”.

The snakes. Everyone supposes that caves are crawling with them, so I 
always make it a point to tell people that I’ve seen just about the same 
number of snakes underground as treasure chests. But a few days ago 
something happened that has made me change my tune...

Centrifugal weapon could deliver stealth firepower

A gun that spits out ball bearings after spinning them to extreme 
speeds is being developed by a US inventor. The novel design has already 
caught the imagination of some defense industry experts. 
The weapon, called DREAD, was invented by Charles St George, a veteran 
of the US firearms industry who founded the company Leader Propulsion 
Systems to promote the idea. He claims a major US defense company has 
shown an interested in developing it further and has produced a 
promotional video showing a prototype in action, which can be seen here

Kokomo Hum/Gavreau Hum

GAVREAU

The central research theme of Dr. Vladimir Gavreau was the development 
of remote controlled automatons and robotic devices. To this end he 
assembled a group of scientists in 1957. The group, including Marcel 
Miane, Henri Saul, and Raymond Comdat, successfully developed a great 
variety of robotic devices for industrial and military purposes. In the 
course of developing mobile robots for use 
in battlefields and industrial fields, Dr. Gavreau and his staff made a 
strange and astounding observation which, not only interrupted their 
work, but became their major research theme.

Housed in a large concrete building, the entire group periodically 
experienced a disconcerting nausea, which flooded the research facility. 
Day after day, for weeks at a time, the symptoms plagued the researchers. 
Called to inspect the situation, industrial examiners also fell victim 
to the malady. It was thought that the condition was caused by 
pathogens, a "building sickness". No such agencies were ever biologically 
detected. Yet the condition prevailed. Research schedules now seriously 
interrupted, a complete examination of the building was called. 

The researchers noticed that the mysterious nauseations ceased when 
certain laboratory windows were blocked. It was then assumed that 
"chemical gas emissions" of some kind were responsible for the malady, and so a 
thorough search of the building was undertaken. While no noxious fumes 
could be detected by any technical means, the source was finally traced 
by building engineers to an improperly installed motor-driven 
ventilator. The engineers at first thought that this motor might be emitting 
noxious fumes, possibly evaporated 
oils and lubricants. But no evaporated products were ever detected. It 
was found that the loosely poised low speed motor, poised in its 
cavernous duct of several stories, was developing "nauseating vibrations".

The mystery magnified for Dr. Gavreau and his team, when they tried to 
measure the sound intensity and pitch. Failing to register any acoustic 
readings at all, the team doubted the assessment of the building 
engineers. Nevertheless, closing the windows blocked the sense of nausea. In 
a step of brilliant scientific
reasoning, Gavreau and his colleagues realized that the sound with 
which they 
were dealing was so low in pitch that it could not register on any 
available icro phonic detector. The data was costly to the crew. 

They could not pursue the "search" for long time periods. During the 
very course of tracking the sound down, an accidental direct exposure 
rendered them all extremely ill for hours. When finally measured, it was 
found that a low intensity pitch of a fundamental 7 cycles per second 
was being produced. Furthermore, this infrasonic pitch was not one of 
great intensity either. It became obvious that 
the slow vibrating motor was activating an infrasonic resonant mode in 
the large concrete duct. Operating as the vibrating "tongue" of an 
immense "organ pipe", the rattling motor produced nauseating infrasound. 
Coupled with the rest of the concrete building, a cavernous industrial 
enclosure, the vibrating air column formed a bizarre infrasonic 
"amplifier".  Knowledge of this infrasonic configuration also explained why  
shutting the windows was mildly effective in "blocking the malady".  The 
windows altered the total resonant profile of the building, shifting the 
infrasonic pitch and intensity. Since this time, others have noted the 
personally damaging effects of such infrasonic generation in office 
buildings and industrial facilities. The nauseating effects of exposure to 
a low intensity natural or manmade infrasonic source are now well 
appreciated. 

It has become a routine architectural procedure to seek out and alter 
any possible such resonant cavities. The sources often appear in older 
buildings, the result of construction rendered faulty by previous lack 
of this knowledge. All such "improper" architectural formats are 
modified by the additions of sound-blocking materials. 

WHISTLES

Dr. Gavreau and his research team now carefully investigated the 
effects of their "infrasonic organ" at various intensity levels and pitch. 
Changing the spring tension on shock mounts which held the fan motor, it 
was possible to change the pitch. Various infrasonic resonances were 
established throughout the largeresearch building. 
Shutting the windows blocked most of the symptoms. When the window 
was again opened, however weak as the source was made, the team felt 
the nauseating effects once again. 

In the business of military research, Dr. Gavreau believed he had 
discovered a new and previously "unknown weapon" in these 
infrasounds. Aware of the natural explosives by which infrasonics 
are generated, Dr. Gavreau began to speculate on the application of 
infrasonics as a defense initiative. The haphazard explosive effects 
of natural infrasound in thunderclaps were quite effective in 
demonstrating what an artificial "thunder-maker" could do. But, how 
could a thunderclap be artificially generated in a compact system? 
These thoughts stimulated theoretical discussions on the possibility 
of producing coherent infrasound: an infrasonic "laser". 

The first devices Dr. Gavreau implemented were designed to imitate 
the "accident" which first made his research group aware of 
infrasonics. They designed real organ pipes of exceedingly great 
width and length. The first of these was six feet in diameter and 
seventy-five feet long. These designs were tested outdoors, securely 
propped against protective sound-absorbent walls. The investigators 
stood at a great distance. Two forms of these infrasonic organ pipes 
were built. The first utilized a drive piston which pulsed the pipe 
output. The second utilized compressed air in a more conventional 
manner. 

The main resonant frequency of these pipes occurred in the "range of 
death", found to lie between three and seven cycles per second. 
These sounds could not be humanly heard, a distinct advantage for a 
defense system. The effects were felt however. The symptoms come on 
rapidly and unexpectedly, though the pipes were operating for a few 
seconds. Their pressure waves impacted against the entire body in a 
terrible and inescapable grip. The grip was a pressure which came in 
on one from all sides simultaneously, an envelope of death. 

Next came the pain, dull infrasonic pressure against the eyes and 
ears. Then came a frightening manifestation on the material supports 
of the device itself. With sustained operation of the pipe, a sudden 
rumble rocked the area, nearly destroying the test building. Every 
pillar and joint of the massive structure bolted and moved. One of 
the technicians managed to ignore the pain enough to shut down the 
power supply.

These experiments with infrasonics were as dangerous as those early 
investigations of nuclear energy. Dr. Gavreau and his associates 
were dangerously ill for nearly a day after these preliminary tests. 
These maladies were sustained for hours after the device was turned 
off. Infrasonic assaults on the body are the more lethal because 
they come with dreadful silence. The eyesight of Dr. Gavreau and his 
fellow workers were affected for days. More dangerously were their 
internal organs affected: the heart, lungs, stomach, intestinal 
cavity were filled with continual painful spasms for an equal time 
period. 

Musculature convulses, torques, and tears were the symptoms of 
infrasonic exposure. All the resonant body cavities absorbed the 
self-destructive acoustic energy, and would have been torn apart had 
the power not been extinguished at that precise moment. The 
effectiveness of infrasound as a defense weapon of frightening power 
having been demonstrated "to satisfaction", more questions were 
asked. After this dreadful accident, approaching the equipment once 
again was almost a fearful exercise. How powerful could the output 
of an infrasonic device be raised before even the operating 
engineers were affected? 

With greatest caution and respect for the power with which they 
worked, Dr. Gavreau began recalculating all of his design 
parameters. He had grossly misjudged the power released by the 
pipes. He had, in fact, greatly lowered those calculated outputs for 
diagnostic purposes. Never had he imagined that these figures were 
actually far too great in the world of infrasound! 

Empirical data being the only way to determine how infrasonic energy 
correlated with both biological and material effect, the tests were 
again attempted with a miniature power supply. First, the dimensions 
of these devices had to be greatly reduced. Their extreme length was 
objectionable. In order to provide absolutely safe control of the 
deadly blasts, several emergency cutoff switches were provided. 
These responded to the radiated infrasonic pressure wave. The 
intensity could be absolutely limited by use of automated barometric 
switches.

In an attempt to achieve more compact and controllable infrasound 
generators, Dr. Gavreau designed and tested special horns 
and "whistles" of various volumes. These were each remarkably simple 
flat circular resonant cavities, having a side output duct. They 
were simply the large analogues of foghorns and police whistles. 
These flat forms were volumetrically reduced in successive design 
stages because it was found that their output was far too great. The 
infrasonic foghorns could produce a frightening two kilowatts of 
infrasonic energy, at a pitch of one hundred fifty cycles per 
second. 

The flat "police whistles" were more easily designed to required 
specifications. Their overall characteristics were quite simple to 
determine, a mathematical formula being devised for the purpose. The 
whistle's resonant pitch was found by dividing its diameter into a 
numerical constant of 51. Increasing the depth of the whistle 
effectively increased its amplitude. A whistle 1.3 meters in 
diameter produced an infrasonic pitch of 37 cycles per second. This 
form violently shook the walls of the entire laboratory complex, 
though its intensity was less than 2 watts infrasonic power.


The findings of Dr. Gavreau in the infrasonic range between 1 and 10 
cycles per second are truly shocking. Lethal infrasonic pitch lies 
in the 7-cycle range. Small amplitude increases affect human 
behavior in this pitch range. Intellectual activity is first 
inhibited, blocked, and then destroyed. As the amplitude is 
increased, several disconcerting responses had been noted. These 
responses begin as complete neurological interference. The action of 
the medulla is physiologically blocked, its autonomic functions 
cease.


THE HAMMER

Let us recall that Dr. Gavreau and his team of pioneers were in the 
business of robotics. They developed industrial and military 
automaton systems. How difficult would it have been to couple his 
newfound weaponry with robotic applications? Dr. Gavreau combined 
the organ pipe and whistle format. The device was housed in a block 
of concrete. It was less than a cubic meter in volume. The primary 
whistle was poised within its interior. At its flared opening were 
placed several resonant pipes. The device was operated by highly 
compressed air. Its output was frightful. It was capable, in a 
conventional engagement, of utterly destroying an aggressor. 

This infrasound whistle design was once sealed in an 880 pound 
concrete pier for tests, a concrete baffle placed over its 
projective end. Even with these precautions, the device succeeded in 
absolutely shaking a fan-shaped portion of Marseille. It broke 
through its supportive concrete pier and destroyed the baffle 
covering in an instant. Macabre. No sound was ever heard. 

This design demonstrated great pitch selectivity, power, and 
directivity. In this last feature, Gavreau and his team achieved a 
safety factor of greatest value. Infrasonic defensive armaments 
could now be safely directed away from the operators against any 
foe. This weapon was a remarkably compact and efficient device. Its 
efficiency was gauged by the destructive output and the weapon 
volume. 

A later embodiment of this terror disclosed another compact cube. 
The infrasonic whistle was presumably housed therein. Proceeding 
from the front plate were some sixty pipes, flared horns aimed in 
deadly forward array. It was said that this device alone, remotely 
guided into an arranged artificial battlefield, burst heavy 
battlements and tank interiors open with a hideous effortlessness. 
In addition, several other more frightening and unmentionable 
disruptions were observed with equal effectiveness. In each, not a 
sound was ever heard.

The device was mounted and mobilized. A robotic vehicle. Powered by 
diesel engines or compressed gas, the almost insignificant unit 
would be a bizarre foe for an army to engage. Preliminary 
experiments had proven the extreme danger of loosing infrasonic 
power among Gavreau and his workers. Without automatic remote 
control mechanisms each technician would succumb to the deadly sound 
and die, while the machine kept broadcasting its deadly sound. As 
defensive weaponry, such a device would be terrible and effective. 
The system would be a true deterrent for those who would be foolish 
enough to attempt ground assault on any nation so armed. Armies 
would fall flat. Once the infrasonic horns were unleashed against 
the foe, the battle would not even begin. 

Such a war engine would be impossible to locate. None who saw its 
size would believe it to contain such a lethal power. Most would 
overlook the device completely. A flood of such devices, each 
emanating a peculiar highly modulated blend of infrasound, would be 
an unstoppable wall. Robotic tanks equipped with infrasonic 
generators could sweep an area with deadly infrasound, destroying 
all opponents to within a five mile radius. These terrible 
infrasonic weapons could easily be secured in drone jets, where 
aerial assaults could quickly and methodically waste any offensive 
approaching army.

Deterring would-be aerial attackers could be equally devastating for 
the offenders. Infrasonic beacons could sweep and scan the skies 
with a deadly accuracy. Infrasound passes through all matter with 
equal effectiveness, seeking out offenders with deadly consequence. 
The intensities which the Gavreau devices effectively broadcast into 
the environment are frightening. In these devices we see the 
perfection of phenomena which never naturally occur in such 
dangerous intensities. This is why these weapons must be deployed by 
remote control, operating as automatons at great distances from 
their operators. 

Weapons are made to defend, not to offend. In Gavreau's own 
words: "There does not exist complete protection against infrasound. 
It is not absorbed by ordinary matter, walls and chambers do not 
suffice to arrest it". And so, once again, we stand at the cross-
roads. We are called, summoned to appear before two pathways. On the 
one, we hear Messaien and the musical messages of peace. On the 
other, Gavreau and the musical messages of war. And again we choose. 
And again we must choose. Whose music will it be?

wishes to remain anonymous due to worrying about the privacy issue. I
would like to "stress", that anything told to me, Brian Vike, will
remain private and between the two parties. If indeed this is a true
story of what the person's Father saw and filmed at Wright Field In
Dayton, Ohio. Of an alien craft, debris and small bodies in a
refrigerated unit on the base, then this story could confirm other
reports people have spoken about over the years. I would also like 
folks
who read this report not to be frightened to talk about an experience
they have had, or knows of someone who may have been involved with

Wright Field In Dayton, Ohio - Circular Craft & Two Small Creatures

Full Description of event/sighting: 

In 1957 my father took me to see a
movie called Earth VS The Flying Saucers. On the way home he was
unusually quiet. Finally he said, "They were too big." 

He then told me that 10 years earlier he had been stationed at Wright
Field in Dayton, Ohio, where he was part of a film unit. 

One day an officer came and told him and another man to grab a couple 
of
16mm movie cameras and follow him. 

He took them to a heavily-guarded hanger. Inside was a badly damaged
circular craft and about an acre of debris placed on a canvass tarp. My
father and his friend were instructed to get footage on everything. 
They
did so. 

They then were taken into a refrigerated unit at the rear of the 
hanger,
inside the unit was what my father described as a museum case holding
the bodies of two small creatures gray, thin with large eyes but no
eyelids. One showed some severe wounds, the other had no visible
injuries. 

They were instructed to get footage of the creatures, when the case was
opened to allow a better shot there was a smell similar to dead fish. 

When they had finished filming the cameras were confiscated instead of
being taken back to the lab for processing. 

My father said he and his friend were literally sworn to secrecy. 

My father only spoke of this to me that one time and [made] me promise 
never to
tell anyone. Since he recently passed away I feel I am now at liberty 
to
relate his story. 

My father was very patriotic and very religious and not prone to making
things up 

Out of respect for his privacy and mine, I submit this report

The Copper Scroll and The Excavations at Qumran

The Copper scroll was written in a Nabateaen script by ancient Irish, 
which 
scroll, if turned right-side up shows its obvious runic origins.

The Copper Scroll was discovered in the caves of Qumran in 1952. It 
remained an enigma for many years. However, intensive research over the 
past thirty years has begun to unlock many of its secrets. To understand 
the scroll, one must first understand the geology and geography 
described within its text. 
Comparing the Copper Scroll to the physical location where it was 
discovered is not an irrational idea. However, such comparisons are really 
like a game jig-saw puzzle. Parts of the scroll are missing, and parts 
have been mishandled or damaged in the research process. Many words in 
the scroll run together. Others are split in the middle or end on the 
next line. 
Based on the more recent photographs taken by Professor Bruce 
Zuckerman, (1) the earlier texts we have worked with contain at least 80 
mistakes in transposition in just 12 columns. (No wonder some of the scroll's 
critics contend that whoever wrote the scroll did not know Hebrew.) To 
assemble a jig-saw puzzle, it's best to find the corner pieces and then 
the pieces that form the borders. Likewise with the scroll, we must 
take the geographical descriptions and then compare them with the lay of 
the land. Geological clues must be matched to fit the anatomy of the 
caves and descriptions of the area. The hidden treasures mentioned must be 
sized up by linguistic and hermeneutic rabbinical resources. Only then 
will a picture begin to emerge. This is exactly what we did. 
After years of painstaking research and patient testing of each 
hypothesis through trial and error, we found ourselves holding a piece of the 
"real" thing, a thing that was only a word in the text when we started. 
After playing with this jigsaw puzzle for over 30 years, those of us 
who have been a part of the process are more excited today than ever 
before. The remaining pieces are falling into place and fitting together 
with ever-increasing speed.

Prepare for life in a police state: Court allows drug dogs in all 
traffic stops

The U. S. Supreme Court ruled Monday that narcotics-detecting dogs can 
be used for all routine traffic stops — and you can bet that we, as 
students with varying degrees of other “incriminating” visual factors, are 
going to be the targets.

The case involved John Caballes, an Illinois man who was stopped for 
doing only six miles over the speed limit, but narcotics-detecting dogs 
ended up finding $250,000 worth of marijuana while sniffing around his 
trunk. The fact that he was stopped for doing only six over is a sign 
that this ruling is going to open the door for more frivolous traffic 
stops with the officers hoping to find drugs.

In a 6-2 ruling, Justice John Paul Stevens issued a statement saying 
that Caballes had no legal right to privacy concerning illegal narcotics, 
and since narcotics dogs are only trained to detect illegal drugs — not 
money or any other lawful possessions — constitutional search and 
seizure protections were not violated.

Injectable Chip Opens The Door To 'Human Bar Code'

Radio-frequency identification chips, which have found a home in 
applications ranging from toll road passes to smart retail shelves, may be 
close to taking up residence in the human body. 

A Florida-based company has introduced a passive RFID chip that is 
compatible with human tissue, and the developer is proposing the chip for 
use on implantable pacemakers, defibrillators and artificial joints. The 
company, Applied Digital Solutions (Palm Beach, Fla.), also said that 
the chip could be injected through a syringe and used as a sort of 
"human bar code" in security applications. 

Called the VeriChip, the device could open up a broad new segment for 
the $900 million-a-year RFID business, especially if society embraces 
the idea of using microchips for human identification. Applied Digital 
executives ultimately believe that the worldwide market for such 
implantable chips could reach $70 billion per year. 

"The human market for this technology could be huge," said Keith 
Bolton, senior vice president of technology development at the company. 
Futurists agree that the idea of using microchips inside the body could 
ultimately represent a large market opportunity, but they doubt whether 
this initial effort will have a significant effect on the RFID market. 

"Are we going to see chips embedded in the human body? You bet we are," 
said Paul Saffo, a director of The Institute for the Future (Menlo 
Park, Calif.). …

Twenty Ways the World Could End:

The odds of being one of the people to witness the end of the world are 
highest when there is the largest number of witnesses around - at 
present, about one fifth of all the people who have ever lived are alive 
today. When it is also considered that ninety-nine percent of all species 
that have ever lived have become extinct, it is not so unlikely that 
humans could feature among the next statistics. Twenty ways in which this 
could possibly happen, ranging from the frighteningly likely to the 
frankly absurd, are detailed below. 
Asteroid Impact

There is now little doubt that a comet or asteroid, or a fragment of 
them, will hit the Earth in the future. In 1908, a 200-foot-wide comet 
fragment exploded over a region of Siberia with nearly 1,000 times the 
energy of the Hiroshima atomic bomb. More recently, comets and asteroids 
have passed close by the Earth, watched with trepidation by astronomers 
and governments alike. And if an asteroid does hit us, it will not 
matter where, for the force of the impact will cause firestorms, global 
cooling, and probable major extinctions. A ten-mile asteroid is thought to 
have done for the dinosaurs; without taking the problem seriously, the 
human race could be next.

Gamma-ray burst

Gamma ray bursts, which are thought to be caused by the merging of two 
collapsed stars, could conceivablycompletely destroy the ozone layer of 
the Earth, and civilization with it. With each burst being as much as 
ten quadrillion (10,000,000,000,000,000) times as energetic as the sun, 
a burst bombarding Earth would cook the atmosphere and allow 
ultraviolet rays to reach the surface at full force. This would not just mean an 
increase in skin cancer, but the extermination of photosynthetic 
plankton which provide oxygen to the atmosphere. The chance of a burst near 
us may be rare, but scientists believe that such a burst might be 
completely undetectable until it starts.

Collapse of the vacuum

According to some cosmologists, there was a false vacuum (an empty 
space full of energy) that existed in the very early history of the 
universe, which was subsequently replaced by more stable kind of vacuum. The 
transition between the two unleashed a massive amount of energy and 
caused an expansion of the cosmos. It is feasible that an even more stable 
vacuum might appear and take over, which would result in the laws of 
physics changing in a split second, and everything being blown to pieces 
by a massive blast of energy. 
Rogue black holes

There are estimated to be about ten million black holes in the Milky 
Way, all of which are difficult to find, observe and track. If a black 
hole were to pass through our solar system, it would distort the other 
planets' orbits. This, in turn, could mean the Earth becoming drawn into 
an elliptical path that would result in massive climate swings or, more 
catastrophically, the Earth could even be ejected from the solar system 
altogether and sent hurtling in to space. The good news is that black 
holes orbit like other stars, so one is unlikely to be headed our way. 
The bad news is that we would not know if one was. 
Giant solar flares

Bradley Schaefer of Yale University recently discovered that solar 
flares which bombard the Earth, and which the Earth's atmosphere 
effectively defends against, may have cousin superflares which are potentially 
destructive. Such a superflare, or giant solar flare, emitted by the sun 
could fry the Earth, resulting in the complete destruction of the ozone 
layer. And if Mr Schaefer is wrong, Sallie Baliunas of the 
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics suggests an equally worrying opposite 
scenario. She has found that solar-type stars go through quiescent 
periods, in which they become one per cent dimmer. If the sun went through a 
similar period, another ice age could be upon us. 
Reversal of Earth's magnetic field

The Earth's magnetic field decreases to almost nothing every few 
hundred thousand years, and then reappears with the north and south poles 
flipped. A decrease in the magnetic field could result in a decrease in 
the amount of particle storms, cosmic rays and subatomic particles that 
the field deflects on a daily basis. This would, again, erode the 
protective ozone layer. And if the poles were to flip, many creatures that 
navigate magnetically could be affected. A full magnetic reversal could 
cause massive ecological problems across the whole of the Earth. 
Flood-basalt volcanism

Sixty-five million years ago, a huge volcanic explosion in what is now 
India unleashed a quarter-million cubic miles of lava; it is an 
eruption which some scientists believe may have caused the extinction of the 
dinosaurs. An earlier, even greater, eruption wiped out ninety-five per 
cent of the species living on Earth at that time. It might not be long 
before the planet is due another. 
Global epidemic

As old diseases grow resistance to current antibiotics, and 
international travel allows diseases to spread much more quickly, another global 
epidemic might not be to far away. A new, unfamiliar strain, possibly 
encouraged by a generally warmer climate and our interference in 
ecological matters, could spread at such a rate as to defeat all preventative 
measures. Our worst enemies could once again prove to be the organisms 
with which we co-exist. 
Global warming

Global warming is a well-documented problem now, but that does not 
lessen the potential for disaster which it brings. A warmer planet could 
encourage disease, possibly coupling with climate change to cause famine. 
Temperatures could be increased by evaporating water and carbon dioxide 
being driven from rocks. Meanwhile, the melting of ice caps and 
increase in sea levels could soon conceivably be flooding cities and washing 
out harvests. Some even say that a typical day on Earth could soon 
mirror that on Venus, with an average top temperature of 900 degrees 
Fahrenheit.

Ecosystem collapse

Evolution over the year has resulted in the fate of organisms on this 
planet becoming intertwined with one another. The overall loss of 
biodiversity could therefore be disastrous for Earth if it continues 
unabated, especially when one considers that humans are directly responsible 
for 30,000 species becoming extinct every year. As an example, a study of 
a park near Lake Superior discovered that colder snowy winters result 
in wolves hunting in larger packs. This leads to the wolves killing more 
moose. The reduction of the moose population leads, in turn, to more 
balsam fir trees surviving. The increase in the number of trees then 
results in more carbon dioxide being pulled out of the atmosphere which 
influences the climate. This subtle interlinking of co-existent organisms 
will be something that the human race continues to overlook at its own 
peril. 
Biotech disaster

The hazardous effects of biotechnology range from the possible impact 
of genetically modified food on our natural ecosystems to deliberate 
misuse of its power. GM crops, it is thought, could engender insecticide 
resistance in other species, resulting in superweeds and superpests 
affecting our ecosystems. More frightening, perhaps, is the thought that a 
terrorist group or hostile nation might unleash disease upon the world. 
Anthrax might be controllable, but what about an airborne version of 
Aids or the Ebola virus? 
Particle accelerator mishap

Some scientists have posited the theory that a particle accelerator 
experiment could set of a world-destroying chain reaction. It was recently 
reported in the Sunday Times that the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider 
(RHIC) in New York could create a subatomic black hole that would 
gradually eat away at our planet. Or, with equally serious results, it might 
create 'strangelets' (bits of altered matter) that would destroy any 
ordinary matter they encountered. The RHIC's directors rejected these 
suggestions not by dismissing the fundamental possibility of such 
disasters, but by insisting that their machine was not big enough to cause 
them. Which begs the question: what if somebody builds a bigger particle 
accelerator? 
Nanotechnology disaster

Nanotechnology is a burgeoning new field in which engineers are 
creating atomic-scale machines with miniaturized circuits and silicon chips. 
The technology could one day see robots which are capable of assembling 
and replicating themselves. While this could lead to robots performing 
surgery from inside a patient or exploring new worlds, it could also 
lead to a more frightening future. Eric Drexler of the Foresight 
Institute has suggested that if an industrial accident were to occur, then 
bacteria-sized machines could spread across the planet like pollen blowing 
in the wind. This would, says Drexler, simply "reduce the biosphere to 
dust in a matter of days." 
Environmental toxins

Environmental pollution is a topic familiar to us all these days, 
particularly in the wake of the Bhopal and Chernobyl disasters. The sheer 
volume of pollutants that the human race now pumps into the air and the 
sea will cause problems for much longer than a few centuries. 
Carcinogenic diesel particulates hang in the air, while heavy metals emerge from 
industrial smokestacks daily. At the same time, rivers become more and 
more polluted by the hour. Potentially most seriously of all could be 
the massive increase in dioxins in the air. In sufficiently high doses, 
dioxins can impair fetal development and it has been suggested that 
they could seriously reduce fertility. If that proves to be the case, 
polluting our atmosphere could eventually threaten our survival. 
Global war

Although the US and Russia are on relatively good terms today, the 
threat of war remains very real. There are now eight nuclear nations in the 
world, with over 20,000 active nuclear weapons, and politics change 
notoriously quickly. Added to that is the possibility of an accidental 
nuclear exchange, with current interception technology unable to prevent a 
significant number of missiles. Bioweapons could be an even more 
realistic threat, because they are cheaper, easier to produce, and simpler to 
conceal. This could prove attractive to hostile, no-nuclear nations 
wishing to wreak havoc. And as genetic engineering technology continues to 
progress, genetic warfare, in which particular ethnic groups are 
targeted, might not be far behind.

Robots taking over

This may sound more like something out of a film, but serious 
scientists give credence to this possibility. Hans Moravec, a co-founder of the 
robotics department at Carnegie Mellon University, believes that by 
2040 robots will match human intelligence and even human consciousness. He 
then foresees a 'postbiological' person evolving symbiotically, who 
will be a merging of human and machine. Some might say this is the next 
stage in evolution, but others will view it as the end of humanity 
itself. 
Mass insanity

By 2020, it is thought that depression will be the second leading cause 
of death after cardiovascular disease. 500 million people around the 
world suffer from some sort of psychological disorder at the moment, and 
the number is increasing rapidly year on year. It is thought that 
ever-lengthening life spans could also see the number increase, as the brain 
is overloaded with 150 or even 200 years of problems, stresses and 
sensations. If that proves to be correct, depression and suicide among the 
elderly could well continue to increase. 
Alien invasion

The great danger from extra-terrestrial visitors might not be conflict, 
but a wish for our resources or for Earth as part of some grand 
inter-stellar project. Just making contact with aliens could be disastrous as 
well: as the late physicist Gerald O'Neill pointed out, "Advanced 
western civilization has had a destructive effect on all primitive 
civilizations it has come into contact with. I don't see any reason why the same 
thing would not happen to us." 
Divine intervention

Judaism, Islam, and Christianity all have books containing predictions 
of divine intervention in which God brings history to an end and ushers 
in a new, more moral, order. Such apocalyptic thinking may seem 
far-fetched if you are a non-believer, but the doomsday cults that seem intent 
on fulfilling these prophecies themselves should provide enough food 
for thought for now. 
Someone wakes up and realizes it was all a dream

The possibility that we are living a shadow existence that fools us 
into thinking it is real has been dealt with countless times in books and 
films. This could also be compared to the possibility of vacuum 
collapse. In the same way that our empty space might not be the most stable 
form of the vacuum, so what we call reality might not be the truest, most 
stable form of the vacuum. To frame the question more poetically, one 
can refer to the Taoist philosopher Chuang Tzu who had a dream in which 
he was a butterfly with no awareness of his existence as a person. When 
he awoke, he said,” Was I before Chuang Tzu who dreamt about being a 
butterfly, or am I now a butterfly who dreams about being Chuang Tzu?"

John Sununu: The Air Force was only too happy to provide the 
transportation, so quite understandably the chicken availed himself
of the opportunity.

Johnny Cochran: The chicken didn't cross the road. Some 
chicken-hating, genocidal, lying public official moved the road right 
under the chicken's feet while he was practicing his golf swing and 
thinking about his family. 

Camus: The chicken's mother had just died. But this did not really
upset him, as any number of witnesses can attest. In fact, he
crossed just because the sun got in his eyes.

John Sununu (again): I would argue that the chicken never crossed the 
road at all. That it is a story concocted by the Clinton 
Administration to distract attention from their failed agriculture
policy. Where is the evidence that the chicken crossed the road? 
Where, Michael?

Michael Kinsley: Oh, John, come on! Everybody knows the chicken 
crossed the road. What evidence do you need? It's obvious that the 
chicken crossed the road. Your whole argument is just a smoke and 
mirror tactic to distract us from the fact that most chickens polled 
now back the Democratic Party. You ought to be ashamed of yourself,
John.

Siskel: I don't know why it crossed the road, but I loved it. Thumbs
up!

Ebert: I disagree. The whole thing left the audience wondering; the 
chicken's crossing the road was never clearly explained and the 
chicken didn't emote very well. It couldn't even speak English!
Thumbs down.

Michael Kinsley: But you both agree it did cross the road, right? 
See, John. I'm right as usual.
