De Medici is a proud, and old family. As a member of this family, you are expected to dress in an appropriate manner. (descriptions upon entering a room, preferably with a link to your bio or this page, will be made.) - dress your part, women shall take pride in their appearance. Men shall reflect the wealth and pride of their name.


Appropriate conduct is expected. De Medici will act their parts as aristocrats. The public must not hear of dissention between family members either through posts, or in the club.


No adoptions.


Roleplay is essential in both email and the posting boards of the De Medici AND Tyrant's Cove. If you opt to go into the chatrooms of Tyrant's Cove, stay in character at all times. We will have an out of character section in our posting boards if you need to ask out of character questions or have some interesting news to tell that is non-RPG related.


Marriages must be approved by parents, and then the parents must ask head of the family.



Courting rituals will be followed. No meet and marry, fast "whirlwind" courtships that lead only to two lines in the newspaper...marriage, then two days later divorce. A couple must be together for at least a month in character prior to marriage to achieve permission from all parties. Vampires are "unholy" creations, and marriages will be conducted in the darkest of ceremonies, for churches are for those on their way to heaven. Vampires by nature are solitary creatures, likened to tigers, and need much "territory" for hunting. Having a spouse means taking this into consideration, and adjusting your nature as feeding is necessary and ALL De Medici members are expected to behave in the manner befitting a predator.



Vampires need to remain few and elite. Natural child birth is for the living, so keep in mind what you are, and your actions true to character. 'Children' are created by embrace, the vampiric procreation, 'the only way in the De Medici.' Vampires are sterile, the dead can not bring forth life, for that is a holy gift of God. Small children vampires are to be viewed as an abomination, and severe discipline will be met out if any De Medici creates one. The dark gift is to be given with great consideration, and NO De Medici may pass along this gift without permission from the heads of the family. The Catalyst is for the elite, and will not tolerate inferiour creations. No De Medici character will be brought into the room if it is not at least in their late teens.


Trials for breaking the laws will be conducted by at least one head of the family, serf style, heads of the family have the final words. Witnesses will be allowed, and you MUST have logs for defense AND prosecution from a neutral source. All trials and inner family complaints will be co-ordinated through the family lawyer.


Character rights belong to the person playing the character AFTER they are approved by the heads and parents. The name, if vacated becomes the property of the heads of the family and thus CANNOT be passed onto another player. There will be no exceptions to this law.


The name De Medici can be taken away as a punishment for gross misconduct by a player. Role play and an ability to keep to rules is all that is required to maintain the name for all time.


De 'Medici is a family, and thus will not wage war, but can and will, aid allies with careful consideration by both heads, and the elders of the family. Use of ones wits to create the outcome you desire from conflict is the preferred way. Example...notoriety for "quietly" dispatching ones enemies is not frowned upon by the heads of the family.(i.e. poisons, vampiric murder devices, calling upon your god, torture, or subterfuge, are good examples of role playing out a solution.)Peaceful solutions are nice in theory, but against the grain of the vampire.


De Medici will never be chaptered into a clan, nor will it's members be allowed to join clans.


Succession of the heads of De'Medici will be set in a will and testament upon their death. (It will be posted, password protected on the page of the heads of the family, and each character is expected to have a will and testament regarding children and the care of them after their own passing, and any estates owned by the deceased character. Password protection will be provided for the web site of the character by the heads of the family.) All wills shall be drawn through the family lawyer so that none may contest the wishes of the deceased.


Estates must be created for the characters, drawn from the De'Medici's vast portfolio. This will include the source of income for the character, outline of what the home looks like, and servants will be included on this page, feel free to add in details, the more details added, the richer and more in depth the character becomes in general.



Use of the family lawyer is mandatory for purchases and other business ventures.


Only the heads of the family may ally the De Medici's with a clan or other family. A meeting of the heads, with the elders of the family will be conducted to discuss the pros and cons of any action taken by the family.


Arguements shall be handled through email. If the name De Medici is brought up in public for an argument that is detrimental to the name, there WILL be hell to pay, and loss of the De'Medici name could be a result. We take our lineage seriously, and any who set out to besmirch it, shall find low tolerance for their antics.


Absolutely no out of character. Although we are sure you are a wonderful person behind the monster, we want to know only the creation. Giving out information about other members of the De Medici whether in supposition or fact, will be grounds for stripping of the name. There is no need whatsoever to know who plays who, or what you are doing at your keyboard at any given minute. If you find the need to make out of character friends, this is a.) not the family for you. b.) you need to go to an open chat room, there are several listed on the talkcity intro page.


Character usage and rights may be suspended as a penalty for breaking the laws. This time away from the character will be role played out at their return as if the character had been kept under house arrest, and role play of this punishment during the punishment may only be carried out via the post RP section.


No animals will wear the family name. The family will be 100% vampiric. Pets you may have, but none shall make a mockery of the family by allowing lesser species the privilege of our name.
