The ollie should be the first thing that you learn on a skateboard. It is used to "jump" over obstacles, off ledges, over steps, etc. Lets start with the footing: 1) Place your back foot on the tail, and your front foot in the very middle of the board. 2) Start by popping the tail. Not too hard, kids. I can ollie higher sometimes if I don't try so hard 3) Now, jump FORWARD AND UP, while dragging your foot up the almost-vertical deck, leveling out the tail. 4) Land with your weight distributed evenly over the board. The ollie is almost ALL timing. You have to jump and slide your foot at the exact right time to get a good ollie. Once you have the timing down pat, you can get higher ollies by simply popping harder and jumping higher. Enjoi!
